Did I expect Joe to beat Kessler? Yes I did
Did I expect Froch to beat Bute? No I never

Also, the manor in which Froch beat Bute really made a statement. I guess we will know how good a win that is in years to come. Bute could go on to have a Lacy type career from here on in...

Id tend to draw comparisons wite Joe-Lacy vs Froch v Bute due to the fact that both were underdogs going into the bout.

Long story short, Bute called Cloud out for a 173lb catchweight fight. Team Cloud gladly accepted; only for Team Bute to turn around and decline their proposed fight because Bute was waiting on the SS winner.

My whole point is Bute had the chance to solidify his stance as "deserving" a shot at Ward, by fighting Cloud. Instead, he chose to fight Glenn Johnson coming off a loss, while admitting Glenn to be his "toughest" opponent to date.
Really..Bute choose not to move up in weight lets see what Ward does with Dawson before you make claims

Plus Ward was handed a title shot against Kessler at home by the network then after the S6 when the same network tried to make a unification with the 2 highest ranked fighters in the weight class Ward said no thanks considering he was the only one not to have to travel outside his own country(double standard)

Never seen Froch fight that way. Clean punches for a change and total dominance in game plan. At 34 near the end of your career, Awesome

                  Kessler is the better win.

But we have tge luxury of hindsight with Kessler as he continued to perform strongly after the Zaggy loss.

We still don't know how strong of an opponent Bute was but we'll find out soon enough.

Lol you're comparing Ward fighting Kessler in the SS tournament to Ward not fighting Bute after the tourny?

Ward fought Kessler because they were in the SS.

Bute chose not to fight Cloud after calling him out because he wanted to fight the winner of the SS. Ward chose not to fight Bute because he felt Bute didn't do anything substantial while the SS was going on.

Not fighting in the SS doesn't = automatic title shot afterwards.

Those 2 scenarios are night and day.

For the record, the Bute win was more convincing, shocking and exciting.
