Bute was not invited to the Super Six. Dan Rafael has said this numerous times, even as recent as yesterday's live broadcast.

If he'd have fought Taylor or Abraham he would've won both fights, and possibly improved to the point where he wouldn't have been embarrassingly KOed by either of the big hitters in Froch and Kessler. Ward would have decisioned him, of course.

Dirrell wouldn't have taken part, thank god.

Crazy how the opinion of Bute has changed so drastically in one day.

He's gone from people saying he'd beat everyone in the Super Six to not winning a single round of the Super Six.

I think both Taylor or Abraham could have beaten him. Abraham hits like there are bricks in his gloves, and throws pretty sharp punches. Taylor may have a bad chin, but his skills were still there and he could hurt Bute as easily as Bute could hurt him.

It's far from certain he beats either, and Ward, Dirrell, and Kessler would have kicked the crap out of him.

Anyone could potentially beat anyone else if they fought the right fight. SS6 Taylor was a sharp, hard puncher with a fair bit of ability, but he would have hung back and tried to box with Bute, and consequently come off second best. Bute's a rhythm fighter and his speed, precision punching and general sharpness would have found holes in Taylor's defence and seen him TKOed or decisioned. I'm fairly confident of that.

Abraham would have posed a problem with his power, but he also almost always takes the first few rounds off. Bute would have been able to find his rhythm and again pick holes in Abe's defence. Later rounds would have been interesting.

I agree that Kess, Froch and Ward would've all beaten him.

I'm not even a Bootay fan, but the 180 on him here and elsewhere has been sickening.

Apparently he wouldn't even beat Alan Green now.

Well it certainly hasn't done him any good to have 6 (ultimately 9) of the best fighters in the division tied up for a couple years fighting each other, while Bute fought lesser competition. But I thought it was common knowledge that the Super 6 was set up from the beginning as 3 Fat Yanks vs 3 Eurobums, no room for a Canuck like Bute.

He would be retired now if he was in the super 6.

Well Abraham's technically Asian and he represented Europe. Bute could have represented North America as a fat Canuck.
