Quillin and Golovkin are not that they are both still on the bottom of the top 10 of the Middleweight division. If you even want to rank them within the top 10. Golovkin and Quillin are working their way to get to the top and prove themselves while Bute was seen as already established.
What I was getting at is that Martinez only wants a smaller Floyd and inexperienced Chavez while not even trying to pursue other fights. He couldn't get either of those two or Cotto or Pacquiao so instead he wasted his time with Dzinziruk and Barker. Those type of fights don't do anything for him. At least Golovkin and Quillin are highly regarded and talked about within the boxing world. More importantly he should be looking at fights with Sturm, Geale, and Pirog. If he doesn't want to move up and can't fight the biggest names around him then he should try to unify the Middleweight division (besides Chavez because we all know he isn't getting that fight). If the Chavez fight doesn't happen next and he still doesn't get a Cotto or Mayweather, who will he fight next? I bet him and Dibella don't look at Pirog, Geale, or Sturm as options.
Geale was offered 1 million dollars to fight Martinez before Barker, but he rejected. Martinez even offered Quillin the fight before Barker, but he also rejected. And if you seriously think Martinez is the one who doesn't want the Sturm fight, you have no idea what you're talking about. That fight would have been made ages ago if Sturm wanted it. And I'm not exactly sure why you think a win over Pirog and Golovkin means anymore than a win over Dzinziruk. They're completely interchange names in Martinez resume. No will care eitherway in the end. At least Dzizniruk was an accomplished veteran in his division with wins over Daniel Santos and Joel Julio.

Good fights at 154 for Martinez maybe Cotto or Alvarez or maybe even Floyd if the Pac-Floyd doesn't happen. Also Kirkland or Golovkin at 160.
