Stop speaking of height. This is not the nba. For Martinez to "fill out" and become a legit 168 fighter he would have to put on approximately 15lbs of muscles.

Not likely. He's like 50 years old.
1st of all he's not 50. 2nd of all, i just posted the top two fighters physical statistics. Statistically, it shows that the two best fighters in the division are not that far apart from sergio. 3rd of all, if he's older he should be able to retain weight easier and it should be an advantage for him physically to move up.

& i dont know how many times i have to tell you this,

sergio doesnt have to weigh in at 168. He can come in light.

Great old school fighters come in light all the time. Roy moved up to heavyweight & beat ruiz. tyson was outweighed by as much as 40 lbs sometimes. Pac has shown you that weight isnt as important as you make it out to be. Henry Armstrong held 147,135, & 126 at the same time.

Asking sergio to move up one division is not unreasonable.

You dont think sergio can be competent against bute? against kessler?

get your head out of your hairy balls harry balls.

You would upset the Sergio ****riders tho.

of course i have a point. sergio walks around 175-180. No way in hell he can fight at 168. The illogical logic of nsb.

Posters at NSB put wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much emphasis on weight. If you truly are a great fighter, you can overcome weight disadvantages.

I guess sergio isnt great enough to move up one division & try to be a 4 division champion. I mean floyd started at 130 & he just fought cotto at 154. Pac started at 106 & is now one of the best 147 pounders.

    The list is endless....

This needs to be settled with a poll.

You can say that, or that Martinez is all about the benjamins that's why he's going from respectable to hypocrite begging pac or Floyd foir a fight and will hug his current division to death.

I can understand that, coz at his advanced age I think legacy ain't important to him, hence he won't move to 168 where which the fights are more dangerous and the possibility of him getting smoked is very imminent. He'd rather stay somewhere safe and lucrative.

But it ain't lucrative long enough, and he should definitely look into moving to 168 while it's hot. I think money can still be made there.

160 is a barren wasteland. if sergio is trying to take care of his retirement package, all the money is at 168 not to mention legacy.

Yeah except you forgot the most important stat. Their weight and muscle mass.

I was not aware that this was the height championship of the world.

Of course he can but he would be at a disadvantage.
Dawson can come in light against Wladimir Klitschko.

Heavyweights are not comparable. Not at all since there's a dropoff in punch resistance scaling and in speed and mobility as you get that big.

Armstrong is arguably a top5 of all time. Martinez is not.

Pac has fought fighters on the end of their career or coming off horrible fights. I doubt Martinez will go up and fight Allan Green, Glen Johnson or Jermain Taylor.

Asking sergio to move up one division is not unreasonable.
He already did. He's as small a middleweight as Pac is a welterweight.

You dont think sergio can be competent against bute? against kessler?

I seriously doubt he'd be a favorite against any top fighter at 168. And if he lose at his age he can kiss big money fights goodbye more or less.

                You just proved my point.

Martinez is smart enough not to mingle at 168 'coz he might lose.

sergio beats any 168 pounder except ward & dirrell.

froch vs sergio is a toss up.

im gonna laugh my arse of once sergio realizes all the money & legacy is at 168, moves up & shows a good account of himself.

lets talk the real thing, everybody make sacrifice pac does, so does mayweather(the 2 jump 2 weight division for superstardom) if you want big money and recognition you have take the risk. its just that simple.

                      let see....
pac has that 7 division thing
                      may has the big "0"

wht can martinez do to climb to those 2 level???
maybe he can move-up and beat the winner of super six who is the most talented young man in the sport. since getting fight with pac or may are kinda imposibble.
