completely agree with ****m...what tito did is not at all comparable to what margarito did. different states have different rules on how a fighter can wrap their hands...but putting cement in your wraps is illegal no matter where you fight.

Tito still had power after the hand wrap incident, he was not fighting with "loaded gloves" it was the way he was wrapping his hands. Was Mayorga's chin the same after he fought Tito?..Tito was clearly not the same fighter after the Hopkins fight. Tito was a great welter and super welter but middleweight was just to big for him.

His biggest mistake was moving up to fight Hopkins

I lost respect for Tito because of his retirements/lack of heart, not because some flimsy rule in NY being broken

correction: he didn't move up to fight hopkins, he was already at 160. It was a mistake thinking he could beat Hopkins though, but great fighters fight other great fighters. You win some you lose some.

He did move up to fight Hopkins, it was a middle weight tournament. Tito/Joppy - Hopkins/Holmes . He was suppose to beat Hopkins, Joppy was looked at as the toughest opponent at the time since he was the youngest. Then the plan was to face RJ. But Hopkins had other plans..and showed that he was the king at 160lbs.
