but lara just offered himself up on short notice and he would be an excellent replacement. of course i don't expect it to happen but it would be great if it did. i am glad they didn't cancel the whole event altogether, at least there's the soto-matthysse to look forward to. that's almost a main card on its own.

Because if you are trying to sell a fight which it sounds like he is trying to do then you might want them to at least think you will be healthy and able to compete. If he's trying to entice Ortiz then fair enough. Saying he can make 150 should be enticing enough. All Ortiz is probably thinking now is that he won't get any credit for the win. If he does win.

I got nothing against Lara, he's a good fighter. I just think he's selling the fight the wrong way.

Ortiz was 164 pounds against Mayweather and Lara was 160 pounds against Williams. Plus Ortiz said he'd fight anyone at 150 just today. You're complaining about nothing.
