Junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (15-1, 10KOs) has been reading the back and forth debate between the promotional teams behind middleweight champions Sergio Martinez and Dmitry Pirog. The Russian boxer's team made an offer of $3 million dollars to entice Martinez to travel across the ocean to Russia for a fight with Pirog. But Martinez and his management have zero interest in facing Pirog in Russia -especially without the involvement of American television.

Where Martinez won't go, Lara is willing. The Cuban boxer has no problem moving up to to 160-pounds, or facing Pirog in Russia.

"Team Pirog is looking hard for an ass whooping. If Martinez won't fight you in Russia - I will. I have fought all over the world and that type of atmosphere doesn't bother me. I just beat Paul Williams like he helped [Fidel] Castro take over my country and i still can't find a fight. Angulo, Kirkland, Molina, Trout and Dzinziruk have all turned me down. For an opportunity at a title I would consider moving to 160-pounds, and flying across the world to make a point. I am one of the best fighters in the world, pound-for-pound. This is my open challenge to Dmitry Pirog," Lara told BoxingScene.com.
