i'd love to see this fight, but gbp won't do it. lara is trying to get any fight he can, it's messed up how he can't get a fight. i hope ortiz gets a decent opponent and i hope someone mans up to give lara a fight.

yeah i know, but sadly molina is another relatively unknown name. either one beating the other won't get them a title shot or a high profiled fight. maybe the loser gets a title shot with alvarez, who knows. but having a W over molina won't boost lara's career. he needs to fight someone who is ranked within the top 5, is undefeated with some fanbase, and or has a solid name that people can recognize. and as much i like and am a fan of both fighters, neither one has that. molina/lara was a great fight but it kind of went unnoticed. they both need to be in fights that'll get them noticed.

Because if you are trying to sell a fight which it sounds like he is trying to do then you might want them to at least think you will be healthy and able to compete. If he's trying to entice Ortiz then fair enough. Saying he can make 150 should be enticing enough. All Ortiz is probably thinking now is that he won't get any credit for the win. If he does win.

I got nothing against Lara, he's a good fighter. I just think he's selling the fight the wrong way.

Lara isn't a big JMW he'll be fine at 150 and the only people who would be crying about weight drained are a few obsessed people on NSB, other than that it would be a great win for Ortiz. Great win. Plus, imo he's probably going to move up to 154 eventually anyway.

See what I bolded? The word "big?" Huge difference in fighting Ortiz, or Martinez compared to Molina. Two are HBO fights, the other is an ESPN fight.
