But at the same time, Mayweather has never fought a Haymon stablemate, so he has that excuse to fall back on. But i'd still like to see either Mayweather or Cotto stand up to Williams if he wins. I bet both May and Cotto are keeping their fingers crossed for Canelo to win.
I got to tell you man, if Floyd fights P. Williams for me it will be Floyd vs Corrales all over again. Remember what Quintana did in the first fight and what he was doing before he got caught.

I will be impressed if this fight goes down. This is how boxing used to be, with these sort of crossroads matchups.

Yeah that's how I feel about this. Anyone thinking PW is a pushover is really sadly mistaken. PW has looked bad against 1 type of fighter, a slick counter-punching southpaw. Last I checked Canelo is none of those things. The guy got caught by the #3 P4P fighter in the world (who has also KO'ed his last 5 opponents) and got beat by a guy who's IMO the most underrated fighter in boxing and a terrible style matchup for him. The list of people I believe can beat Martinez and Lara right now is a real short one. PW's chin and will to fight are still there, and as long as he has those 2 things he's not an easy fight for anyone.

Canelo would also have 2 big problems in this fight if it actually happens. First of all he's not exactly the toughest guy to hit, and second he has consistent long periods of inactivity in rounds. If you do that against PW you can find yourself down on the scorecards because PW is constantly throwing and landing punches. If you have very good lateral movement, great counter punching skills, and are a lefty you can make easy work of PW. If you are standing in front of him you are probably in trouble.

Williams Has A Glass Jaw; His Hype Is Over! I'd Rather See Canelo vs Sergio Martinez!

Go KO Williams who will weigh 180 on fight night anyway, then set up Martinez who is on the verge of being a has been. Martinez wants to call out smaller guys, he struggles with guys in his OWN weight class, just as well send Canelo in to clean out the division, and seek to dominate for years like Marvin Hagler did. That's who Canelo should model his career after.... The Marvelous one, Marvin Hagler.

Canelo MUCH Smaller Than Williams/Rather See Canelo vs Sergio Martinez

...and let Williams fight Jermaine Taylor....and have someone close by to sweep up the broke glass jaws from both.

This is a tough styles matchup for Canelo considering how low his output can be at times and he's not a cute southpaw counterpuncher like Lara so, it'll be tough. I'd be impressed if he wins and even more impressed if he wins impressively.
