Truthfully I usually couldn't care less what Ortiz says or thinks but he's hit the nail on the head in regards to how Canelo is being set up/groomed here.

What does happen when he comes up against a "young lion"?

I'm not saying Ortiz is that guy plainly because I don't see that in him. He folds on the big stage, he's mentally Zab Judah.

Canelo does need to step up his level of competition though. A Kirkland, Cotto, heck even Williams or Lara.

Caleo's still young only 21, has plenty of time to grow. He hasn't fought tha best fighters out there but to say hes not talented is ridiculous. I agree his next fight should be Kirkland or another top name. Not ready for the best pound for pound yet. Ortiz would win right now if they were to fight. And Ortiz was only 21 when he fought maidana, he would kill maidana if they were to rematch now. He's one of the best welterweights and he will show it his next few fights.
