Isn't Golovkin the one that sparked out Bute with 14 oz gloves and headgear, with one shot? I think Canelo is a young, talented, entertaining fighter with a decent chin and good power who brings it. Can't see why there is so much hate.

Yes you're right about the golovkin ko against bute. Not hating on canelo, but how can we really measure the quality of canelo's chin unless we see him get hit flush by a strong puncher...with no headgear and with 10oz gloves.

        agree with this.
he's shown a very good chin
the kid eats up punches when he's exchanging. he's finally learning to block them. still doesnt move his damn head or take a step back

when he fought jose cotto he was 19 years old.

fight a professional boxer when you're 19 years old and see what his punches taste like

Nonsense. EVERYONE knew Cotto had a suspect chin, it's what made his fights exciting. You're just spewing hate.

Read the previous page, people are still trying to rationalize it by saying it was the opponent or the weight, just like they did back then. Those same fans somehow believe that Cotto's chin is sturdier than Canelo at 154...

Not only that he has been untested cause all his fights the opponent has been carefully selected. Look how the WBC gave him the title and are now making every good fighter jump though all kinds of hoops in order to get a shot at him.

If he was a contender I wouldn't be so critical but he has been a champ for a while. So where has the competition been. Being the champ used to mean that you are the best in your division

Canelo fan, but Jose Cotto and Kermit Cintron both hurt him. Doesn't mean he has a poor chin, just not a granite one.

Well based on his weak schedule, we really don't know how strong his chin is do we?

Yes, he was rocked by Cotto's brother. But he hasn't fought any Top 5 middleweights to really test him. I don't know if his chin is suspect or not.

When you are a good boxer who is gaining noteriety and haven't lost yet.

The automatic response will be "he has a suspect chin" because he has never got in a dog fight before.
