I've been wondering the same thing. I saw a post yesterday & started to reply, but I figured he had been informed immediately that Canelo's chin is very solid. He's even sandbagged on defense before. Letting a guy land a couple here & there when he feels confident the guy can't hurt him.
Why do people keep saying Canelo's got a suspect chin?

The very few times that Cintron actually started to pressure him and started to hit him you can clearly see the effect.
Not only that he has been untested cause all his fights the opponent has been carefully selected. Look how the WBC gave him the title and are now making every good fighter jump though all kinds of hoops in order to get a shot at him.
If he was a contender I wouldn't be so critical but he has been a champ for a while. So where has the competition been. Being the champ used to mean that you are the best in your divisionComment

Affected as in he hit me Im gonna hit him back two times.
If he where hurt by those punches every singel boxer fighting today have suspect chins.
Seriously you ether you dont have have a clue have to decipher a boxing fight or you are just hating the kid.Comment

You are just right, I've only been watching boxing for more than 25 years. I don't know what I'm talking abuot. You would think that after all these years I would had learned something by know. Thanks for pointing that out.
When Canelo actually DOES fight a top fighter and win I will change my stance. I go with what I see and I see that you are on the bandwagon. Otherwise than that he is unproven. I want to be watching the next best thing but I'm not falling for the hype. In the end its only my opinionComment

Very few fighters have great chins where they can get hit flush and withstand it. Canelo was rocked once, he was hit flush, weathered the storm and won the fight.
I don't get the hatred towards this kid, I really don't. I have never seen a young fighter be hated on more than Canelo. I understand that some feel his title was given to him but and I don't even argue that but we know 99% of the belts in boxing today are bogus anyway so who cares?
What matter is who he fights and whether or not he will win. His next fights will be major steps up in competition and he will have to show and prove.Comment

Cotto got dropped against who? Ricardo Torres was a hard(er) hitting undefeated journeyman when he fought Cotto. He pushed Cotto to the canvas there was never a legit punch that floored him, and lets not forget Miguel was already too big for that division so it's not like his body was at 100%. When was the other KD? Oh yeah, against Pacquiao at yet another weight his body couldn't handle.
Canelo is the future of boxing. If he laces em up against Cotto now, I don't give a crap how tight his guard is or how fluid his combinations flow he's going to get assaulted by a complete fighter not some 2nd stringer. All poor Mosley did was show up for a paycheck that night and Alvarez still couldn't get the job done. He's not ready for this ass whoopin.Comment

Not saying he lacks a beard, but I don't think he's been chin checked to where I can analyze the criteria and confirm. I really like him. But he needs to take things slow, his rec is an padded exaggeration that should not reflect his actual ability. Poor mans Hatton, Cotto-lite, faded Mosley, washed up Baldo, Gomez.. these are his big name wins? Time to step it up, bring on kirkland....or Miguel Cotto. If Oscar dares.Comment

hard to really say how good or bad canelo's chin is because he hasn't been tagged cleanly on the chin I think since he fought cotto's smaller and less talented brother. I do know that canelo got wobbled when he sparred golovkin though...but of course canelo was the smaller guy and it's just sparring.Comment
