Does the same apply for Ricky Hatton?

He's 1-1 at WW. You could argue he should be 0-2 at WW.

Does the same logic apply for him?

Or only when it suits you?

Whitaker fought a prime ATG, Azumah Nelson, at one weight class above where he was previously campaigning.

Discrediting that win is incredibly foolish.

As foolish as discrediting Mayweather's win over Hatton because of weight.

Lol@ at all the pretentious "old school boxing experts" reaching like s**t, the older u get...the farther the walk was to school

If the question is who was the better boxer, the answer is Pernell. I would entertain an argument stating otherwise.

But the OP is asking who gets the nod when considering accomplishments (im guessing belts) and resume (quality/caliber of opponents).

Im not understanding the basis for discrediting some of Floyd's wins, especially over Marquez

              Whitaker has a lot of good wins;

              Ramirez x2
              McGirt x2
              Haugen
              Nazario
              Penelton
              Mayweather
              Vasquez

These are all very good wins.

Then on top of that he has two ATG's in their prime's in Chavez and Nelson.

You could also argue he beat Oscar in his prime but I felt that could easily have gone either way.

The scoring of course was terrible but you can't complain with the decision IMO. Although I thought Whitaker won, it was close.

This comparing the Marquez win to the Nelson win is sheer comedy.

Whitaker beat a career Super Feather at Lightweight

Floyd beat a career Featherweight at Welterweight

The win over Marquez is a good win, IMO. Many disagree but I personally consider it a good win after the Pacquaio fight.

But, obviously, it isn't as good as Whitaker's win over Nelson.
