i would say roy jones jnr ...

hopkins wins but he does it ugly
depends on the person. I remember Jones fighting lots off no hopes in showcase fights. Not very exciting to me.

If you take away Tarver, Calzaghe, and Johnson(who they both fought), all you need is one name to determine who is the clear winner.

      Felix Tito Trinidad.

      Hopkins resume by a mile.

I think anyone who picks Jones just likes him better.
You don't think De La Hoya and Winky were washed up?

Toney is a better opponent than anyone Hopkins faced save Jones himself.

I prefer Hopkins, in fact he's my favourite active fighter, and I don't like Jones. Come off it.

Hopkins fought the bigger names, Jones the tougher fights.

The casual fan will look a Hopkins record and see he beat de la hoya and think thats a great win.

While the same person will skip over Roy Jones win over Reggie Johnson and thing Johnson was a bum.

Casual would think beating and Undefeated trinidad is better then beat an undefeated James Toney.

But I do agree James Toney probaley has the better resume then both guys

Good question, I'd go Hopkins because of later in his career.

I lean towards Jones because of Ruiz, Toney and Hopkins.

Hopkins has the better names on his resume but most of them were two weights above their best weight class.

Come off what? I think you need to come off it. Winky and oscar weren't washed up when you look at the age Hopkins was. You want to give it to jones because of Toney. Well Toney was not very good at 175. he lost to griffin and a club fighter. He was great at cruiser and heavy but looking at his build against jirov and holyfeild i have to say he was juicing. how does a fat ass like him ll the sudden look like a body builder? Can you admit Hopkins fought more name opponents. If not make a list side by side comparison..

thats how it is at middleweight. haglers biggest wins and loss were against smaller men.
