I will try to make this clear because some people on here misunderstand why I like Canelo so much. It's NOT because he has defeated all these high ranked fighters because he has not. I like to try to pick a future great fighter before everyone already thinks he is great. I see skills, speed, power, courage, calmness under fire, and most of all a total dedication to becoming the best boxer he can be. I think the Mexican fans see these things in him. I believe in his future and I will pick him to beat any fighter in the world his weight. I bet as much money as I can afford to lose on him every time he fights. I will place a large bet "for me anyway" on him if he fights Kirkland. Kirkland is game and a big puncher so he always has a chance to win by KO. I think Canelo is a much better fighter and should get the wide open Kirkland out of there in 6 rounds or less.

Canelo's superior boxing ability gets him the win but James is a ****ing GorillDog. He is going to get in that ass.

I doubt this fight will happen now. I lean toward Canelo, but Kirkland could possibly out work him. I think Canelo has the harder punch and is over all a better fighter.

He recovers well also. Maidana goes down all the time, but people dont say he has a bad chin because he always recovers. I see not much difference in Kirkland.

Before anyone shows the Ishida pick which will happen. I think a lot of that was do to his training, or lack there of.

I see it as a 50-50 fight, but I favor Kirkland because hes one of my favorite fighters.

Someone posted Rafael saying the fight wont happen because he wont be ready. I guess we will find out.

Edit: Let me add that Canelos power is also pretty overrated. He couldnt even hurt a LWW(that LWW hurt him). Kirkland on the other hand was able to hurt Angulo. As far as I know no one else has.
Kirk has not been the same since serving time. His chin is suspect so is his conditioning. As far as the Angulo fight Angulo blew his load in the first round and never recovered. Kirk has no chance against Canelo.

Something is definitely off about him...I wouldnt say its his conditioning though because he threw like 100 punches a round vs angulo

Angulo was hurt against Richard Gutierrez, and I thought he was also stunned against Cintron.

Alvarez's power is pretty good actually. His problem is he hits opponents on the top of the head most the time, not in the 'weak' spots: The temple or chin. When he does connect clean with a big shot, its sleepy time, aka Baldomir.

If theres one guy that Alvarez will land flush on, its probably going to be Kirkland. Guy leaves himself very open. Still, if he can crowd Alvarez and not leave himself open, he can give Saul a hard night.

i think for the first 3 maybe 4 rounds kirkland will try to impose his will and brute strength on canelo, but by the 9 or 10 i see canelo pickin it up in championship rounds and pulling out a well tough deserved UD
