Canelo -vs- James Kirkland

Canelo by a wide UD no matter what happens in the fight.

Kirklands chin isn't as bad as people think. Joel Julio landed bombs on him and he took them. I think a lot of it depends on of he sees or knows they are coming. Like victor Ortiz. He recovers well also. Maidana goes down all the time, but people dont say he has a bad chin because he always recovers. I see not much difference in Kirkland.

Before anyone shows the Ishida pick which will happen. I think a lot of that was do to his training, or lack there of.

I see it as a 50-50 fight, but I favor Kirkland because hes one of my favorite fighters.

Someone posted Rafael saying the fight wont happen because he wont be ready. I guess we will find out.

Edit: Let me add that Canelos power is also pretty overrated. He couldnt even hurt a LWW(that LWW hurt him). Kirkland on the other hand was able to hurt Angulo. As far as I know no one else has.

I see this fight having fireworks early on.

I just hope we don't see an early hometown stoppage like Canelo-Gomez.

It's possible both fighters will have the other hurt at some point, I just hope there's no funny business that goes on when that happens.

good post and I don't think Kirkland chin is that bad either, he just takes way too many flush shots...I honestly thought he would have gotten up that 3rd time against Ishida is Cortez hadn't held him down. He would have proceeded to lose, but getting up and tying to continue is noteworthy....it's the whole point of the 10 count.

Anyway, it not really his chin that I think he will be KO'ed in this fight, it's the types of punches he takes and the types he's always been open to. Canelo throws those shots, like the right hand and left hook very well..and often. So maybe Canelo's power is a bit overrated as far as producing one punch KO's, he still is a thudding puncher with both hand nonetheless. It's somewhat rare to be able to punch with both and as many flush shots Kirkland does will be a problem when all of them will be with power. i wont be mad if Kirkland wins tho, always been a fan too
