Canelo's chin is questionable and only fights in spurts. Cotto does punch in the pocket so that advantage of Canelo doing a flurry and getting no incomming won't be in this fight for him. Canelo is also listed at 5 08. I'm going with experience in this fight

Lets not go too far here. Cotto's style matched up well against Mayweather, which is a fairly big reason why he looked so good. An odd thing about Cotto's defensive style is that it is good at deflecting straight shots, and yet looping ones and uppercuts get through easier.

Thats a big reason why in Mayweather-Cotto, Mayweather started tripling looping right hands and was throwing a left uppercut in there. Both punches are fairly rare for him, but he kept going to them over and over because he was smart and saw that there were clear openings for them.

Alvarez has much more clubbing shots, not to mention throws pretty nasty body shots, uppercuts and is one of the better combo punchers in boxing.

An example of what Im saying: Mayweather landed 26% of his punches according to CompuWrong, meanwhile Clottey(36%), Pacquiao(43%), and even Margarito(27%) landed at a higher rate than Floyd. And Mayweather is widely considered the most accurate fighter in boxing, definitely better than Marg and Clottey.
Some punches just work better than others against certain defensive styles.
