If you're not able to make weight and a diuretic helps you get there - you're fighting thanks to the help of a substance that isn't allowed.

That will allow you to shed extra water weight which allows you to lose the required pounds without any of it being lean weight - water weight can be gained back from weigh-in to fight night no problem, lean weight cannot. That's enhancement.

        80-89%

it is not many gifted fighters today, so guys have to cheat to keep up and compete with the Few Gifted Fighters

I think the number is EXTREMELY HIGH, MONEY provides so many loop holes to these test, GBP and Top Rank, big Promotions like that, I am sure they have connection to allow their fighters to KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE TESTED!

Sadly I think it is some fans who KNOW their favorite fighter(s) are cheating, but they really don't care, kinda like that dumb A$$ Skip Bayless who was trying to DEFEND PEDS and was saying stuff like "WHO CARES!"

What are you saying here? You are trying to parse the language too finely, and you end up not making sense. The very reason that WADA prohibits them is because they may be used for performance enhancement purposes. That is the very foundation.

Which of those drugs are you saying have no performance enhancement /benefit?

And stop with the silly cartoons, or you won't participate in this discussion.
Sudafed is a stimulant and banned in the olympics. But its pretty useless as far as giving any advantage in sports.

The NCAA bans caffeine. Probably the olympics too.

The worse thing about this board nowadays is that nobody says "I don't know" . Anybody who has driven past a community college thinks he is a frikkin PhD.

Here is a published scientific study that shows that pseudoephedrine (the active ingredient in Sudafed) DOES provide athletic performance benefits:

            http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2014984/

            Conclusions
The administration of a 180 mg dose of PSE increased maximum torque, produced in an isometric knee extension and produced an improvement in peak power during maximal cycle performance, as well as improving lung function.

If we knew the real statistics we would be incredibly dissapointed.

If the question is looking at the top 10 fighters in each weight class, how many are on PED's i would say 8 out of 10. Let's ask Victor Conte.

Did you even read the article you posted?

"There were significant differences in the lung function tests between the PSE and placebo conditions. The differences were small and likely to be clinically insignificant. "

Statistically significant differences but extremely small differences, now why would they say that....

                http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...84/table/tbl3/

Oh maybe thats because for each of the tests there was a 1-2% increase in performance over placebo. I said it was a stimulant and pretty much useless, 1-2% is pretty much useless, my point being there is way better stuff out there.

                    Very High 85+%

PED usage is in every major sports now. It's part of
the regiment for top level athletes.
