vs Pacquiao, came off of a draw to Mora
vs Mayweather, came off beating the crap out of Margarito

Cotto
vs Pacquiao, barely beating Clottey in his previous fight and no trainer.
vs Margarito, Cotto at his best
vs Mayweather, Cotto beat Margarito, Mayorga, and Foreman barely losing one round per fight.

Ortiz
vs Mayweather, he beat Berto in a fight of the year.


If you see, Mayweather fought all of them after a great perfomance.

If Mayweather had lost to a faded Cotto, it would've been pretty embarrassing. That doesn't mean the fight shouldn't have happened 4 years ago when it was the best fight in boxing. There really is no double standard there.

Why would it be embarrassing? Cotto is a very good fighter in his own right. You bring up Cotto is faded but a 35 year old Floyd can't be fading himself ? 4 years ago may have been the best time for the fight but I highly doubt you would mention the timing at all if Cotto won the fight. Being that Floyd won timing is the only thing that matters (even though Floyd is 4 years Cotto's elder). I'm not saying Cotto is still in his prime but it is clear Mayweather isn't in his prime either. Just because Mayweather is still undefeated and considered the best it doesn't mean that he can't be on a decline either. So there is a double standard.

The facts are, when Mayweather came back in 2009 he had a list of fighters he wanted to fight and it was laughed off.

He named 4 fighters, 5 if you include Marquez (Who he'd just signed to fight)

Obviously, everyone knows Mayweather fights once a year. So, everyone who laughed off the list knew then and expected that if he were to complete it, it would be by around this time.

The fact of the matter is he named a list of fighters he wanted to fight when he returned and he's done it. It was laughed off, but of course it's been conveniently discredited. But what else is new.

When he came back in 2009 he named 5 fighters and he's beaten 4 of them.

Anything prior to that is obviously not relevant to this "Hit list".
