You saw "3 jabs" and some "glancing" shots from Cotto. So did I. But I also saw alot of good body work, nice defense, and the champion pressing the fight. With that being said, Floyd still won on my card....which was closer than the official scores. You can give Floyd the close rounds because you have an appreciation for his style. I gave some of the close ones to Cotto for the same reason. Floyd still won. If you are trying to create an arguement where there is none, then have at it.Yeah, three jabs a round while almost everything else Cotto threw wasn't landing... glancing at the most.
What rounds outside of six, eight, and possibly nine, do you give Cotto then... and more importantly, why?
No, you calling him the cash cow and referring to Cotto as a prop was a shoddy attempt at insinuating that no matter how well Cotto performed, the judges would favor Mayweather since he's the reason they get paid.
My original post was me speculating about how COTTO might have felt disrespected as the defending champion. I do not know him personally and I made no value judgement on his actions one way or the other. It was an opinion. And ...news flash...boxing is a business. If you see "shoddy" "insinuations" in that, then you need to give the conspiracy theories a rest, turn off the computer, and go get laid.Comment

The man just really wanted to win that fight. He was disappointed, and he was just ready to get out the ring. Like when your playing for the Super Bowl and you don't when your just ready to go home, I'm sure that's how he felt. All these Floyd fans are really sad, I have more respect for Floyd now than I ever did and you guys are really full of it. If Floyd wouldnt mean something he wouldn't say it, cotto brought the best out of him, he admitted that. Cotto forced him to fight and he admitted that, Floyd show him respect why his fans can't do the same? The guy was disgusted, he didn't even offer an interview nor attend the press conference. after the fight he did say he disagreed with the judges then his team said more things afterwards.
I'm sure he watched the fight and saw the 2 rounds he won and had to retract his statement.
Why else would he not give HBO an interview and allow his team to say ****?Comment

Great job insinuating, once again, that the scores weren't legit. A little sensitive eh?
Right, I didn't respond to your statement about how he may have felt, Phil... I responded about your compliment ....
Cool props.Comment

The scores were right , Floyd won and won clearly , great fight by Cotto I think he would have mauled Pac on that night at this weight , the man was hungrier than a lion and Ive never seen him as determined , everything he threw was with all he had , it took a great fighter to beat him , Miguel had the country on his back and he carried it proudly , off course he is disappointed in losing , he would have gone back and watched the fight probably 10 times and he knows he lost .Comment

Most likely... or maybe he'll think he's just a prop being sacrificed for the greater good of boxing, according to a couple.Comment

Lol dude.... Just lolCotto lost but the scores were too wide and it DOES MATTER. What if Cotto would have won the last two rounds and scored 2 knockdowns in those rounds? The 118-110 card would have still been 114-112 Mayweather....I know its just hypothetical, but I don't see how it was 8-2 after 10.Comment

Right on! Exactly what happened... Somerimes it's hard to swallow that your very best isnt good enough... Cotto fought loke a beast, still I gave him two rounds... Floyd took the first 5.... I gave 6 and 7 to Cotto ( maybe 8 being generous), and Floyd coasted from 9-12I don't like it either because the fans come first and foremost and you have to own up to your failures but I can see why he was upset. The style he fought and the way the fight went down and his focus/mind set made it tough for him to believe he lost. Floyd beat the very best Miguel Cotto could be on that night and sometimes when you lose to a better man, it is hard to own up to that right away.Comment
