On to the next one, for both. No rematch is needed.
If Floyd Dont Fight Pacquiao Should There Be A Rematch With Cotto??

I say yes. Pac and Martinez are fantasy fights. Nobody wants to see an Ortiz rematch. A Berto fight won't generate what a Cotto fight would generate. And Khan will face Peterson in a sloppy rematch. Even if he wins it won't be pretty. Canelo isn't ready yet according to Oscar. What other fight is out there? We' re boxing junkies. We can see Floyd as a clear winner. A lot of casuals booed and disagree with the decision.
A Cotto rematch makes sense. It makes the most money and it was an entertaining fight.
Floyd made a record purse in this fight. He will earn a similar amount in a rematch.Last edited by -PBP-; 05-07-2012, 12:41 PM.Comment

UNCONFIRMED PPV Estimate for Mayweather-Cotto
An industry friend who normally gives me the nums said that the buyrate definitely seems less than the 2 million Schaefer was talking about (no surprise there).
Her quote:
"But the numbers are strong....well above the Ortiz fight. Probably in the 1.45-1.6 million range."
Also, remember that the unit cost was higher.
Take it for what you will. I'll post updated data for those interested as I get it.Last edited by Gino Ros; 05-07-2012, 12:57 PM.Comment

Cotto would just get robbed again
Thats the problem when your fighting someone who is a promoter.Comment

Why? It wasn't that competitive...
Cotto won 3 maybe 4 rounds, why would we want to see the same thing happen again?
No thanks, Cotto made a great show of it, props to him but I want to see Cotto fight Canelo. Let's make that fight happen!!!Comment

I also wanna see Cotto vs Canelo, and if the redhead wins, he can fight Mayweather
Floyd already beat Cotto, and everyone would agree with this except Pacquiao fans of course, in their eyes Cotto-May was much closer than Marquez-Pac.Comment
