Moral of the story is, Cotto got schooled, he brawled, and roughed Floyd up sure, We are talking about boxing here not MMA, Cotto won the 6th 8th and maybe 9th in my opinion, thats it.
That is the story with every Mayweather round. In round 3 Floyd was accurate but he didn't land much in that round. Cotto may of not landed a ton but the pressure and activity was great. IMO, that outweighed Floyds couple punches he landed. Would like to see the numbers from round 3 but after just watching I was a surprised Lederman gave round 3 to Floyd but 5 to Miguel. No way Miguel won the 5th.

Ok, now those guys know that Cotto didn't win that fight so now what they're doing is campaigning for a rematch. No way Cotto can ever beat Mayweather but hey, another 8 to 10 million dollar purse will make a nice chunk of change. And I read on another site that Roger Mayweather said that a rematch with Cotto is possible.

"But cotto isnt landing anything"...as we are looking at may's nose leaking and his eye bloodshot was pretty classic.

Imo, the announcers starter out the first rounds riding floyd hard, but seemed to start to show cotto *some* love. Its hard not to think that hbo doesnt have an agenda to get may-pac into the ring.
There was a good jab early that did that damage to May's nose. Remember when Cotto knocked down Clottey with the jab? THAT jab. Cotto is a natural lefty and his jab is thrusting and strong.

People act like it takes a zillion punches to bloody your nose.

It takes ONE punch to bloody your nose. Heck... it takes ONE punch to BREAK your noise.

Only at 154. I still don't think he wins though.

          • I see that Dave Moretti did give Miguel the 3rd and Floyd the 5th. I think that was right. The other 2 judges did give Miguel the 5th though, which is interesting.

            • I think it's more shock and suprise that cotto hung in there for the whole fight. By the second half of his fights Mayweather is winning rounds by miles. The idea that cotto could even make rounds close was a big suprise. At the end of the day, thought, a close Mayweather round is still a Mayweather round so the large margin stands. Cotto sure made him earn it though. Good showing for him.

Of course he didn't land every time he threw it.

But you're saying he took his right hook away from him when he really didn't do anything of the sort.

He landed it effectively in almost every round.

It's funny how people (WHO HAD NOT EVEN SEEN THE SCORECARDS) were criticizing the judges.

They were calling the judges blind and incompetent, when their own card only had a ONE round difference.

                  Effin hilarious.

                  • I gave cotto 4 rounds maybe 5 and that's at a stretch the HBO commentators were an absolute joke paid to talk up their cash cow as much as possible and be completely biased in doing so this made for horrible viewing having to listen to them floyd talks about himself enough already that doesn't take away from the fact that floyd put in a really good performance against a top fighter and impressed me, the commentators did not.

Watching this fight and seeing how many times floyd got tagged with the left hand maybe puts me in favor of manny to beat floyd he was getting hit at will with the left hand maybe get khan in with mayweather because khans got fast hands and a really decent jab and would be a nice warm up out of jail and nice fight to have to get accustomed to a speedy fighter like manny cottos got decent speed but hes no manny or khan in the speed department perhaps thats what floyd and golden boy have been thinking with a khan fight

                      That's all it is.

People are used to seeing a Mayweather fight be over by round 5-6.

In the Hatton fight, he lasted until round 7.

                      Cotto lasted until Round 8.
