The consensus based on this list seems to be 8-4/9-3. I think 10-2 was wide and it seems just about the entire press does too. But on this list I see more 8-4's than anything else.

8 to 4 seems like the right score to me with quite a few close rounds. No doubt Mayweather won in a competitive and highly entertaining fight where both fighters needed to dig deep, which both did. Not sure why people can't enjoy it for what it was. Floyd,"toughest fight of my career". Floyd fan, "that **** was easy work". I don't get it.

Merchant had it wider than Steward and Lampley.

Yeah I noticed he only gave him 1 of the first 6 but at least Merchant wasn't blowing smoke up the fans asses. The way Steward was talking you would think Mayweather was winning every round 10-8.

team cotto proved they are too damn stubborn trying to land looping hooks while floyd rolls them ALL. LOL. headhunting on floyd is just wasted effort. his stiff jab did more damage than his wasted effort flurries.

i dont understand why cotto didnt do more body work on the inside. and land the inside left hook.

the pressure cotto applied was great though. i just feel like had a lot of missed opportunities on the inside. he let floyd initiate and take rounds too easy.

still... cotto did alot better than what i expected.

I'm sick of all the hate towards the man. It's a obvious win...people act like since it was a rugged fight Floyd should be discredited but styles makes fights. I wont mind seeing a rematch so when it's more decisive everyone would see what's up.

The HBO crowd was certainly on Floyds nuts the whole broadcast. Every time Steward calls a Cotto fight you can just tell the dude is bitter that Cotto kicked him from the camp. I laughed quite a few times when he tried to hammer in the idea that Cotto was landing nothing in the flurries and then at the end Cotto would land a cross or when Floyd had a busted nose. How did he get that Manny? Manny is a Kronk boy but he sure can be a b1tch commentator. Honestly, I thought Merchant was the only guy actually saying anything of truth.

Imo, the announcers starter out the first rounds riding floyd hard, but seemed to start to show cotto *some* love. Its hard not to think that hbo doesnt have an agenda to get may-pac into the ring.

I'm still interested on why everyone gave the 3rd to Floyd. I don't mean to be the guy to break down every round but I didn't understand why Floyd got the edge in that round. He didn't do much and Cotto was able to land the much heavier shots and dictate the pace. To me that was a clear Cotto round, despite being close because it wasn't like Miguel landed a ton of punches.

I'll tell you excatly why Mayweather got the 3rd, because his shots were accurate and sharp, they wernt throw 10 and hope 2 land, Accuracy and Effective boxing.

Moral of the story is, Cotto got schooled, he brawled, and roughed Floyd up sure, We are talking about boxing here not MMA, Cotto won the 6th 8th and maybe 9th in my opinion, thats it.

Another 2-3 rounds were close. I wouldnt mind Cotto getting one of those.

So max Cotto couldve gotten IMO is 5 rounds, and minimum of 3.

You must have blinked everytime cotto blocked his sweeping right hook. It probably was his most effective punch throughout the fight, but his punch stats attest to just how effective it actually was(or wasnt). Cotto made adjustments too, no reason to deny.

Compubox has already been proven to have been complete b.s. in the third round, and judging by that, im not putting too much faith into any of their other numbers. Im not denying floyd was more active tho, but let me put it this way, ill be sure to save your words so that when manny and floyd fight, manny should win by default just because of activity.

I watched the fight. I know what I saw. I saw Floyd More active (you agree) , more accurate (I'm sure you agree) and I saw Floyd dominate in the championship rounds (I'm sure you agree).

So, what are you bytching about exactly?

Cotto is not on Mayweather's level. Period. Floyd went to Miguel's weight class and proved a point.

The score card is irrelevant. Cotto lost convincingly but convincingly silenced all of his critics! I was very satisfied with the result of the fight and was most def on the mark with my opinions that he would be a lot more competitive than most would have thought. Nonetheless, haters gonna hate not much you can do about that!
