Two of the most accurate statements I've seen written about this fight.

Floyd was boxing him but most of what he threw(particularly in the 2nd half of the round) landed on Cotto's gloves. It was a close round but I thought Cotto did the better work and to say Mayweather dominated this round is ridiculous. I can see why someone could score it even, but I wouldn't give it to Floyd.

I want you to rewatch that round and relly tell me if Cotto landed ANY PUNCHES. He lands 3 jabs that entire round. I JUST WATCHED this fight he landed only 3 punchs. That was one of Floyds most dominant rounds, especially defensively.

Round 9: Floyd shaded the first minute by landing a couple of clean punches but Cotto was still being aggressive, not throwing as much as he had previously but pushing him back and trying to land combinations. Cotto landed a nice jab about half way through the round and then got him up against the ropes and landed a hook, and Floyd retaliated with left uppercut to the body. Floyd momentarily had Cotto on the ropes until Miguel jabbed his way out. At times they clinched and Floyd perhaps landed more shots on these occasions, but his punches weren't very loud for the most part. Cotto finished the round by dodging 3 consecutive Mayweather shots with his hands down. I couldn't separate them. Not a dominant round for either fighter.

This is another clear round because you could tell Cotto blew his entire wad in the 8th round. Cotto was FEROCIOUS, determined and aggressive in the 8th round. In the 9th he was the exact opposite and barely through any punches. Definitely not enough to even think about winnin the round

Floyd definitely outlanded Cotto, but I found that a lot of his punches were fast flurries(often when in a clinch) that didn't really effect Cotto too much. Bare in mind also that I gave the 7th to Mayweather, and there were quite a few people who scored that for Cotto, so it's not a case of me being biased - I just felt Cotto edged round 3 and did enough to earn a share of the spoils in 9 & 10.

If you look at compubox stats, you'd expect Mayweather to win comfortably(though you could say the same for Castillo in their first fight), but I can't see it that way looking at the fight. Cotto made it uncomfortable for him, and as you can see, I had him a round up going into the 11th.

Maybe you would think differently if you actually knew how to score a fight.

How many even rounds did you have? 116-115 is ridiculous. Id like to see that breakdown.

dude, in the first 10 seconds cotto lands 2 jabs, and what about the bodyshots that soon follow? floyd fans don't seem to count bodyshots from his opponents, yes he rolls alot of bodyshots, but he took alot from cotto too

cotto landed a 3 punch counter-combo at about 2:13 of rd 3, and that's all im gonna watch of this, i dont want to rewatch this fight again, try and be a little more unbiased

smh @ 3 jabs is all he landed

Are you serious? Floyd dominated round 3? Cotto clearly won that round. Go back and watch that round and tell me Floyd DOMINATED it. You can say he won the round but not dominated it. Cotto: 2,3,5,6,7,8

Cotto landed some nice body shots in the 3rd and I scored the 9th a draw, so I never said Cotto won it. Whatever way you look at it, it was a tight round.

No need to get so emotional, big man....It should be posted a couple of pages back.

People need to realize you can't give "even" rounds. Unless they both threw and landed the same exact number of punches with the same speed and power, it's impossible. 8-4 Mayweather UD. End of story.

I won't say who, but these folks your talking about have a way of scoring fights when they watch it in slow motion......
