Are you really surprised? These are the same people who said Ortiz won 3 rounds. After Marquez beat or drew with Pac in their third fight these tards would be saying Floyd won a gift no matter who he fought or how convincingly he beat them. They're just still butthurt about Hatton or mad about the majority of people saying Marquez got the better of Pac in their last fight.Comment

How can you give Cotto more than 3 Rounds? and to be fair, mayweather was deliberately going toe to toe, had he been willing to make it boring and just box him all night, I'd say it would of been a total wipe out 12-0.
Cotto didn't come close to winning, he left to go to the hospital, and I hope for his and everyone in boxing's sake that he is alrightComment

Round 3: Floyd was winning it in the first minute by not doing a whole lot, landing but not having any impact on Cotto. Cotto started doing some good work to the body in the second minute and started landing his jab in the second half of the round. Floyd was boxing him but most of what he threw(particularly in the 2nd half of the round) landed on Cotto's gloves. It was a close round but I thought Cotto did the better work and to say Mayweather dominated this round is ridiculous. I can see why someone could score it even, but I wouldn't give it to Floyd.
Round 9: Floyd shaded the first minute by landing a couple of clean punches but Cotto was still being aggressive, not throwing as much as he had previously but pushing him back and trying to land combinations. Cotto landed a nice jab about half way through the round and then got him up against the ropes and landed a hook, and Floyd retaliated with left uppercut to the body. Floyd momentarily had Cotto on the ropes until Miguel jabbed his way out. At times they clinched and Floyd perhaps landed more shots on these occasions, but his punches weren't very loud for the most part. Cotto finished the round by dodging 3 consecutive Mayweather shots with his hands down. I couldn't separate them. Not a dominant round for either fighter.
Floyd definitely outlanded Cotto, but I found that a lot of his punches were fast flurries(often when in a clinch) that didn't really effect Cotto too much. Bare in mind also that I gave the 7th to Mayweather, and there were quite a few people who scored that for Cotto, so it's not a case of me being biased - I just felt Cotto edged round 3 and did enough to earn a share of the spoils in 9 & 10.
If you look at compubox stats, you'd expect Mayweather to win comfortably(though you could say the same for Castillo in their first fight), but I can't see it that way looking at the fight. Cotto made it uncomfortable for him, and as you can see, I had him a round up going into the 11th.Comment

Man, that was a good fight! Cotto, put a lot of pressure on Floyd and gave a good account of himself, but Floyd clearly won. I think Cotto was doing exactly what he need to do and Floyd adjusted as usual. There are some funny pictures of Floyd getting hit though. I only say that because their aren't very many of those pictures around.
I had it 9-3 Floyd.Comment

I hate when people say this. Mayweather is not invincible, he's just a really great prizefighter. He said himself that it was the toughest fight of his career. Don't undermine Cotto's effort by suggesting that Floyd was in his comfort zone the entire night. He deserved the win but he did box him for periods of the fight and still managed to lose rounds. How can you give Cotto more than 3 Rounds? and to be fair, mayweather was deliberately going toe to toe, had he been willing to make it boring and just box him all night, I'd say it would of been a total wipe out 12-0.
