Molina is a legit top 10 sww, maybe top 5. Latimore, nowhere near. I like Quintana, and don't need to see him against Canelo. He's a quality boxer, just doesn't have the durability to mix with these guys. I think he'd be fighting scared against Canelo, while Kirkland would put on a show win or lose.

Canelo needs to be taking a step up, not a step down.

**** styles.... a Quintana fight is too easy for Canelo. He should fight either Molina or Kirkland

Every fight since he won his belt has been a stay busy fight.

While I do agree with everything you said, I will understand if Golden Boy goes this route. The three top southpaws are Kirkland/Lara/Trout. Now, I personally would love if he ran a one year gauntlet with the first southpaw being Quintana. A seemingly easy fight against a veteran who's seen it all basically. Of course this concept is pure fantasy, cuz GB seems to have one main goal with Canelo: turn him into the next Mexican superstar. If Trout beats Rodriguez, he'll be one step closer. Kirkland gotta come back from surgery, and he'll probably be Canelo's next opponent. Then after he will probably fight Cotto to start off the new year. Beating Cotto will lead straight into a Cinco De Mayo weekend bout with Floyd. I honestly don't like this plan, but it seems very plausible.

My ideal plan: Fight Quintana next, then a rejuvenated Kirkland coming off a win, then Trout coming off a win, then Lara. Mayweather would be nowhere on Canelo's radar.

GB's plan (most likely): fight Kirkland next, maybe a stay-busy 2 months later, then Cotto, then Floyd in May.

Somebody in another thread last week predicted this.

Canelo and team like name fighters that don't have it anymore to build a fringe resume.

Canelo don't have to waste his time with this fight, on the flip side Quintana is crafty and might pull an upset.

No need to fight this guy

Canelo should fight his mandatory but the WBC keeps raising that bar high and is keeping him safe

#2 Kirkland is out of commission, he should fight the #1 Vanes or the #3 Lara, other than that it will be another BS fight, unless is Fraud.

Canelo show excellent poise against Mosley and was the whole package last night. He didn't get wild or too emotional and restrained from going overboard on trying to get a KO and put together his best performance to date. He is too much for both the revived Quintana and the prime one from 3 years ago.
