That's at the very most, I had it 10-2 to Floyd, and there was one extra round which I REALLY considered giving to Cotto but thought Floyd just edged, so could understand 9-3.
People are acting like Cotto deserved 4+ rounds solely because he did better in some rounds than most of Floyd's previous opponents, but you can't look at it like that... if you think Floyd got the better of him in the round and Cotto was competitive, Floyd still deserves the win, people are holding him at a higher standard.Comment

There were no HBO fight night weights I don't think, so its just Floyd's word. Like I said, maybe he just weighed himself with bathroom scaled when he was at home or something, they can always be slightly out... Floyd's been known for being around 149 on fight night.
I was impressed how he managed to beat Cotto at his own game through a lot of the close ranged stuff, goes to show that he can box well from close and long range... I think his strength is underrated too.I'd happen to believe this story because Floyd has always had problems with his hands. But it doesnt matter. He CLEARLY won the fight. A GREAT fight. He fought Cotto at a weight Cotto was comfortable in and after coming off of a career resurrecting win. Not a weight drained Cotto who was coming off a career loss. So we can all see the difference.
Nevertheless it may seem Mayweather might not dominate as easily as we think. He took quite a while to figure out that the uppercut was the punch to break Cotto's defense. Usually he would find that out earlier.Comment

More lies from chicken Floyd. I think it was Miguel Cotto who hurt his hand in the second round and some people who happened to watch the fight was saying.Comment

Floyd certainly wasn't up to his usual standards. Maybe a hand injury was the problem. Either way it's irrevelant because Floyd was able to win quite clearly and Cotto was always going to give Floyd a decent fight when he is in that kind of form.
Cotto clearly is better conditioned now and mentally he never quit so props to him.Comment

Money whooped that ass so bad Cotto was too ashamed to stick around for the interview and ran.
Floyd gave all of the advantages away to cotto and still whooped that ass. Cott had the weight and gloves that he wanted and Floyd fought his fight and gave him time on the ropes and cotto got busted up.Comment

That's why I wasn't mad at the judges scorecards. 118-110 and 117-111(what I had it) made perfect sense. Cotto won 2 rounds decisively, and a couple rounds were close. Floyd did enough in every other round to win them. People that are screaming robbery need to fall back. Floyd won convincingly, but Cotto refused to lay down, so the fight was a success as far as I'm concerned. That's at the very most, I had it 10-2 to Floyd, and there was one extra round which I REALLY considered giving to Cotto but thought Floyd just edged, so could understand 9-3.
