  • So, im gonna be the one to ask, Cotto tonight vs Cotto from Pac fight....

A few things I noticed, obviously the major one, Cotto looked MUCH bigger tonight than he did in his catchweight classic with Pacquiao, of course he was 10lbs heavier on the scales and had a lot of extra ballast tonight.

On top of that he also seemed more structured, kept his cool and excecuted his gameplan much better.

Oh man it's the Mayweather fight no doubt man.

His glove positioning, jabs, footwork, power shots and everything was just better imo. He came in BIG and looked very strong and healthy. He put up a great fight.

After losing to Bradley, Cotto will serve him a second helping of just desserts.
Redemption has a name, and it is Miguel Cotto.

Because he wasn't getting hit with 100 punches per round. I've always said that stylistically cotto would give floyd problems. Cotto was just being cotto, using his jab and pinning floyd in the ropes and tee off.

The reason cotto looked good tonight is because he was able to fight at his pace, he was not being pressured and forced to fight.

Hard to say.. Does Cotto take his shots much better with the few extra pounds ala JMM? Cotto has undoubtedly gotten better with his discipline since that Pac fight...

It's too hard to say, especially since we know Cotto can fight differently and would have a different game plan. We know Pac would do the same thing though so it pretty much depends on what Cotto does. Can't sell Pac short though and say "Cotto" with confidence... Cotto has always done well against slick fighters..could have just been a style thing.

I honestly believe this new Cotto (at 154) would beat Pacquiao in a rematch.

I think after the Marquez fight then of course a rematch vs Manny would be different. Cotto knows Manny has the power to stop him and the combinations. I think what Cotto will do is keep his distance and throw combinations and then back off. He would also probably stay away from the ropes. Can't say he would absolutely win though.

I wanted to see Pac-Cotto II for a reason.

Miguel at that first Pac fight was still bearing the beating from plaster-hands, as was shown in the Clottey fight also, and most importantly he was training himself and making his own gameplan. He now has a very good trainer with him, his footwork has been fixed, he has proper gameplans...it's not really close.

No he would not. Styles make fights. When cotto fights at his own pace he is great, his stamina holds up but when he is being pressured and and forced to fight he breaks down. Why do u think margarito and pac gave him two brutal defeats?

Cotto when he can fight at a slow and tactical pace is hard to beat, that's why he does great against fighters who prefer to box.
