I am surprised people of your stature gave it Cotto, though.

    And Round 3?
No one I was watching with in a house of 15, besides my wife, thought May won the third. I'll rewatch it. Looked like a good frame for Cotto to me.

I think this is true for many. I think the phenomenon of overvaluing any success of an underdog (or more beloved) fighter may be at play here as well. Also, Cotto was pushing forward (in a similar fashion as Carlos Molina when he fought James Kirkland) quite a bit and flurrying on the ropes, which can be deceiving. Floyd landed more and cleaner in most of those encounters.

Round 5, yes Cotto had Floyd on the ropes, but he got busted up by Floyd's counters while he had there, and Floyd ended up out landing by a significant margin.
I agree. I don't know what Cliff was watching. He gave Cotto round three (WTF?).

For people who say Pac can win and do what cotto did understand this.Cotto is bigger and more physical, a better body puncher, and it was a different weight class, and Cotto is a better boxer. You have to take that into consideration

Its so silly that all you pac fans, think because floyd had tough time with cotto that pacman will destroy him. Cotto and pacman fight nothing alike, cotto bullys his opponents into corners and has a great jab none of this pac does. Also cotto is bigger than pacquaio, come on people use your head. Styles make fights.

What we NOW have seen is the very best of Mayweather as he "HAD" to fight Cotto.

Cotto need not hang his HEAD

Cotto provided the BLUEPRINT to WHUP JR's A$$
if they fight, it will be at 147 where Floyd punches are more deadly. this ''blueprint'' aint nothing new, put Floyd on the ropes, apply pressure, throw jabs... we heard this all before, he still wins.

I never saw Cotto as the underdog some did and thought this fight didn't get the appreciation going in it should have. Cotto was better defensively than I thought he'd be and didn't swell like I thought.

I can see as wide as 10-2 despite my score, though I find that too wide personally. Solid fight all around.
he didnt do that much body work for u to give him 5 rounds. i simply didnt see that fight. i agree he hit floyd all over, it was a brilliant gameplan, but to say bodywork won him more than 2 rounds??? i dunno

Mayweather gets in a much tougher fight than expected, loses 4 rounds and gets a bloody nose. Plus, he got hit with the left over and over again, and whos the best at left hands?

Feel the triangle burn theories floyd fans, because it's exactly what you did with marquez and pac.
Pacquiao suffered as broken ear drum from Cotto which required surgery, dont think Floyd will need surgery, Pacquiao also fought Cotto at 145 and Cotto appeared to be much much more stronger and lively at 154...
