What's really crazy is that after facing both flyod and manny, they asked mosley, Oscar, hatton, and marquez who would win in a fight between manny and money...they all said flyod would win. It's gonna be interesting to see what cotto says when they get around to askin him that, which they will. You just might for the first time see a pro boxer who faced both guys pick manny....judging buy his new trainer, his ultra confidence comin into this fight(unlike his pacman fight) and him fighting at his real weight, I'm doubting it tho lol

That was a very entertaining fight. Now, having said that, alot of the post here are missing some key points about what went on in the fight. First of all the notion that Floyd's age has caught up with him and has made him susceptible to getting hit more because Cotto landed some good shots and was able to bloody Floyd's nose and because of this Pac would beat floyd is ridiculous.
Key points to note:
The only reason Cotto did so well is because Floyd chose to fight on the ropes, more in the corner, and spent alot of time fighting on the inside because he wanted to give the fans a very entertaining fight which he did. In the post fight press conference, Floyd said he could have easily stood on the outside and out boxed Cotto but he chose not to because he wanted to make the fight exciting. So it would be a mistake to take this performace and determine how he would do against Pac. HE WILL NOT FIGHT PAC THE SAME WAY.
Would Manny beat this version of Cotto?
This question can only be answered if Manny fights Cotto at 154. I don't think Manny would do so well but you never know because steroids is a hell of a thing. I read a post here that said Cotto wasn't weight drained in the Pac fight because in the fight before that ( the Clottey fight) Cotto weighed 146 which is only a 1lb difference. But what they are not saying , and it maybe just out of ignorance, is that unlike the Clottey fight, Cotto was not allowed to rehydrate in the Pac fight like he would normally do. This wasn't the case in the clottey fight where he was able to rehydrate above 154 as he usually does.Last edited by iniduoh; 06-06-2012, 01:42 PM.Comment
