Floyd got the early rounds by default, he didn't do much in those rounds but squirm around. Tbh, anyone who says Cotto won isn't blind. I think many of us get fed by HBO, Box Nation or whatever and they give us the assertion that Mayweather is dominating. I think Mayweather won, but 115-113 sounds about right, I thought even a draw would be appropriate.

You could flip the coin and say Pac had Cotto running for dear life, neither fight would make for a good example. Mayweather would win a close fight against Pac. He's the best fighter I've ever seen since SRL.
I think the comparison was Mayweathers style and conterpunching ability is 10 times that of Marquez at his best. That has nothing to do with what version of Marquez that Floyd fought. And PLEASE don't compared this fight to weight drained Cotto versus comfortable weight Manny.

Very, very close fight in my eyes. I thought Floyd was going to steamroll Cotto but I guess I was wrong. Cotto fought well in the inside and took control of the fight at times. They should fight again.

I was watching a stream so I'll have to hold off on my scorecards...seemed like Cotto won 3-4 rounds though...

I don't think this was as close as the De La Hoya fight though...that fight was on the table til the championship rounds...

As A long time mayweather fan ill say a few things... Floyd didnt lose sPeed or a step, cottos Pressure and bullying made it look like that...i dont know why floyd wants to please the blood thirsty boxing fans that never liked him anyway by trading when he can sit back and Outbox these guys easily...and if floyd fights like he did with ortiz cotto and mosley, he will have real problems with manny, and i would pick pacquiao to win right now

BOth Cotto and Floyd won tonight. Cotto lost the fight but proved he is still a force, boxing won because if PAc-Mayweather dont happen, there is a rematch with Floyd.

I hated FLoyd, but tonight he won my respect, and although not a fan, he showed what he was made of when tested. Props to Cotto, but Floyd won it.

Yes, styles make fights and Floyd shut the hell out of Marquez in one fight coming off of over a year retirement while Pac still has yet to dominate JMM through 3 weight classes with age and power on his side. Cotto didn't have the trainer he has or the weight, so you have to factor that into the equation when comparing what Pac did to Cotto at 145 and what Cotto can do at 154. ALSO you have to remember that Pac didn't want to fight Cotto again at his comfortable weight of 154, so comparing Pac and Floyd fighting Cotto is null and void. Cotto was Pac's first choice and turned him down because of weight. Can't down Floyd's performance/win on Cotto and compare it to Manny's.

I've seen enough from all parties.

Floyd won the fight. That much is crystal clear. I scored it 8-4 for Floyd but that probably has to do with me being a Cotto fan. I think the most fair, realistic score was 9-3 Floyd.

But honestly, great fight. Cotto really came to fight and forced the best out of Floyd. Floyd's just that good, one of the best of our time and I hope people realize that.
