Because they know it's inevitable that Cotto loses. Why talk shyt when you know he's going to lose? I wouldn't.

If your boss came to you and asked you to work graveyard shift for less money or day shift for more money - what would anyone choose?
I understand Floyds picks... I dont knock him as a man for doing them... just when we start talking about resume and amount of credit for wins... then that is seperate.

Example, I would of given Floyd more credit for beating Margarito than Baldomir.

Regardless of Baldomir being technically the lineal champion and getting damn near the same amount.

I understand why Floyd fought Baldomir and I may of done the same thing, but the reasoning still stands, when it comes to resume and credit... he would of got more for Margarito.

But I don't think the Berto fight is perfect for Berto. Or for Haymon.

Berto would have then lost twice. For a guy who already can't sell ice in the desert, where does he go from there?

Maybe that one mega-payday vs Floyd would carry him... but I would think that AH would want to parallel-path Floyd and Berto as long as possible. Like Arum does.

Nothing against Pacquiao but I want that to happen so that the myth finally crumbles.

Yeah but... that isn't happening so no point in discussing it

To a hardcore boxing head like you, he would have. In the minds of the genpop, do you think they NOW know the difference between a Margarito and a Baldomir? I doubt it.

Time has erased that stain...along with the spectre of cheating that hangs over Margarito.

Actually if somehow, someway the Cotto fight is close and competitive.. and it sells well... 1.4-1.5+ I see a possible rematch... maybe not immediate.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong. But i'm thinking you got to get people just to see Berto. He is the epitome of a fighter that needs "a rub". No other options for GBP to try and make Berto viable.

I do actually... especially after Margarito would of went on to decimate Cotto.

Baldomir never did anything after Floyd beat him, or much before that aside from the upset.
