Again, i thought it was an even fight but gave Hopkins close rounds because he is a 47 year old legend fighting a prime young strong fighter.

if chad thought Hopkins wasn't effective at all and didn't earn his respect he would not have praised him like he did. he is happy that he got the decision because he knows it could have gone the other way.
Effective at what? Slowing the pace? Sure. Landing the occasional punch and roughing him up in the inside, with the head and wrestling tactics? Sure. Effective in winning the actual boxing match, OR EVEN COMING CLOSE..HELL NO.

Lol at giving him 1,2, and 11.

Lol at not giving him the 4th rd which was his best.

Lol at giving him the 6h which Dawson began landin at will.

12 was close, but I felt Dawson did more but wouldn't argue it the other way.

1 and 2 could have gone either way. the 3 should have been a 4 thanks for correcting my typo, 3rd was dawsons best round besides the 7th and 8th. Dawson "landing at will" lmao. If he ever was able to land at will then why did he not throw more punches? He never landed consistently. the 6th Bernard hit him with a beautiful body shot and some crisp rights.

everyone sees fights differently. i can see how others would give chad certain rounds i didn't, but in this type of technical fight, where no one is really imposing their will on the other, i just like to award clean punching (not come forward aggression, or power punches hitting gloves) and felt Hopkins landed more clean ones.

Hopkins didn't win rounds 1&2. Round 9 and 11 could of went either way.

          I had it 8-4 Dawson. Dawson won rounds 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 11.

Hopkins landed a combined SIX punches over the first 2 rounds. And none of them were thudding. Only an idiot or biased stooge would score either of the first 2 rds. It's still
Boxing. The object is still landing more punches.

I'm not sure Wut takes away from guys' sense of objectivity. But really I do know. Personal bias. Now ex lost the fight & that can be accepted. But he was not dominated. He was not beaten up. He was not outclassed. How can u outclass a man whom u can't impose ur will upon. Dawson had every physical advantage u could think of...reach...speed...athleticism...height...and most importantly 20yr youthful advantage. Hes also a technical boxer himself. For people to not be amazed at a man almost 50 yrs old able to use his FEET & movement & intelligence to keep a bigger faster man off balance & at bay & compete effectively is insane to me. I saw this live last night & he made daws miss over & over all night. But ask urself why dawson never went for the kill...why didn't dawson overwhelm him. Why didn't Dawson impose his will?? Bernard looked incredible if put into proper perspective. Ask urself if dwayne wade would fail to score 50 on mike jordon today if they met on the court.... He would run mike ragged. YOUTH!!! nard hit chad w/ 3 consecutive str rights late in the fight chad never answered. This wasn't a fight where one guy blew the other out. & that's bc Hopkins is really a brilliant fighter. Unbelievable really. No 1 quitter hitter in his bag....all craft. #salute

Because your a fight fan, not a boxing fan. B-hop was actually brilliant in there and roughing Dawson up in the beginning was very effective. Bhop stayed free of harm (elusive) and hit Dawson with something every chance he got.

The fight was not boring and the commentators have control of your judgement.

Dawson blocked most of what Hopkins threw, get your facts straight.
