It won't break the record, only Mayweather-Pacquiao would or could. I could see Mayweather Cotto doing anywhere from 1.35-1.5 million. It'll be more then Pac did with Cotto.

schaeffer is trying to drum up interests from fans but i think he will fail big time. only fanatics will eat up mismatches in a ppv card and that's what this fight is all about.

I'm always surprised when I mention Cotto/Mayweather to my circle of friends and acquaintances who I think are more of casual fans than me. "Nah. Cotto is too slow for Mayweather. It's a mismatch."

I thought Cotto would at least make this fight interesting. But I'm not feeling the spark with these casual friends of mine. I guess I'm the more casual one, then.

Fill up my gas tank or order the fight? 99.9% sure Mayweather over Cotto by UD. Gas it is!

Man if $70 is to much or outrageous in todays age then you better be under 25 in school or its time to re-evaluate your career. Not to insult cause ive been there but they have been 70 for the past 2-3 years

I would never buy a fight like this unless I planned on throwing a party~ but it is so easy to find a party why go in alone. I prefer to make money on fight night though as opposed to spending a bunch~

The question is do I go to the party of my Puerto Rican friend where I will get lots of action or to just a normal party where I can chill and not have to be real careful~

exactly. fight is May 5th. you got a whole month to save $70 to pay bill when it comes. Besides, don't some of these cats got friends to watch the fight with?

it's not about the amount or having the capacity to spend that amount. it's about knowing the purpose of what your money is going to be spent for. it's called wise spending...if it serves its purpose or it will satisfy you then go for it. if not then why buy something you don't like even if it's just for $1?

I'm thinking low end 600,000 to a 1,000,000 at most.

1st the $70 price is going to turn off a lot of people

2nd the two big fights are mismatches. Canelo against a shot Mosley and Mayweather against past prime Cotto. before you Cotto fans get all upset he isn't the same Cotto he was 5 years ago, that's when this fight should have been made.

the only people buying the fight will be Ricans and Mayweather fans. $70 price will make most Mexicans think twice, they won't pay for a mismatch when they can see Canelo the next week for free on HBO Latino.

since Cotto doesn't have much of a chance the Mayweather haters won't be buying it. people seem to forget that people don't buy Mayweather fights to see him win, they pay to see him lose. Mayweather's the "villian" and hustles his haters but I don't think they'll buy it this time.

all and all I'd probably just catch the reply because the card isn't very exciting, I don't like mismatches even for free.

I think Cotto vs Canelo would have been a much better fight. Cotto is still good but he's not p4p anymore, 5 years ago yeah but not now. Pacquiao, Mayweather and Martinez are just in a different league right now. that's why a Canelo fight would be been great, it'd be a much closer fight and who doesn't like seeing Mexico vs PR fights
