Now's is fans' chance not to buy Mayweather's crap. The more support this clown gets the more air is injected into his brain. He'll then add more justification not to pursue the fight fans want to see.

You can do the same with the Bradley fight if you want to. Frankly, I don't give a crap about who gets bigger PPV sales and all that crap.

1st the $70 price is going to turn off a lot of people

2nd the two big fights are mismatches. Canelo against a shot Mosley and Mayweather against past prime Cotto. before you Cotto fans get all upset he isn't the same Cotto he was 5 years ago, that's when this fight should have been made.

the only people buying the fight will be Ricans and Mayweather fans. $70 price will make most Mexicans think twice, they won't pay for a mismatch when they can see Canelo the next week for free on HBO Latino.

since Cotto doesn't have much of a chance the Mayweather haters won't be buying it. people seem to forget that people don't buy Mayweather fights to see him win, they pay to see him lose. Mayweather's the "villian" and hustles his haters but I don't think they'll buy it this time.

all and all I'd probably just catch the reply because the card isn't very exciting, I don't like mismatches even for free.
I agree with most of your post.

$70 is too much if they want to brag about PPV numbers (assuming it's $80 for HD). Should have made it $50 or something.

I guess this means Pac's PPV is $70 too.

I said it from day one when this fight was 1st mentioned. This will be a record breaking PPV!! It has a stacked under card! Mosley vs Canelo that's a PPV right there! I say it does between 1.75 Million --- 2.4 Million in PPV sales.

Floyd Mayweather has a huge fan base.
And Miguel Cotto also has a huge fan base.
Shane Mosley has a big following.
Saul " Canelo " Alvarez has a huge Mexican Fan Base.

You put all that together and that's a BlockBuster PPV!

LOL at Shaeffer saying Cotto gets stronger in the second half of the fight. Um.... No, he doesn't.

I expect this to be a PPV smash, for obvious reasons, and I couldn't disagree more with those who say Cotto is past-his-prime. He's in his prime. He's fighting at a very comfortable weight for him, he looked marvellous in his last fight, he has a trainer he seems to connect with. All these people who say he's past his prime... When was his prime? I think his win over Judah was when he LOOKED his best (his best performance), but that Cotto isn't very different from today's Cotto. Today's Cotto would still bludgeon and stop Judah in much the same fashion. Cotto's actually less vulnerable now than he was then, as he isn't struggling to lose weight. In his last couple of fights he's been more economical, as the Pacquiao loss definitely hurt his confidence (so did the Margarito one), but he seems to have found his feet now. Just because he's changed his style slightly doesn't mean he's shot. The phrase "past his prime" gets tossed around so *******ly by boxing fans nowadays, it's quite sickening. Seems like if you lose your unbeaten record, you're considered past your best.

The Cotto of five years ago is not dissimilar from the Cotto of today; maybe a little quicker, a little more aggressive, that's all. Just like the Mayweather of 5 years ago was probably a little quicker, a little more lively than the May of today (compare the Gatti fight to the Ortiz fight). Does that mean Floyd's past his prime, too?

Just to clear up this misconception, the suggested retail price for the PPV is $59.99. If your cable provider charges for HD, luckily for me Time Warner does not, then it is $69.99.

Margarito's plaster wraps took years off his career and then he fought Pacquiao not too long after that. Cotto's body just can't take it at the very elite level. don't let Arum's carefull matching of Cotto fool you. Yuri Foreman had a bum knee, Mayorga is a bum and Margarito face can't take sht after Pac busted it up.

Cotto's reflexes aren't what they used to be and he just doesn't have the same fire he used to. I think at 140 5 years ago this fight would have been a lot more competitive.

It won't. My aunt tequila wants to see the fight. She only comes for the big and successful shows(3 in the last 5 years). That tells me this show will do ATLEAST 1.25million buys.
