He may win, but I assure you its going to be an up-hill battle for FMJr.

No matter what, Yo voy al mio! Miguel TKO/KO by 8th.
Floyd is going to totally destroy Cotto.

Don't come here saying Cotto was shot or not fully recovered from his previous beatings..

Also, I don't consider the Ortiz fight to be a totally legit KO, given that it was a bit of a cheap shot(even though Victor was being a big ******). I think Cotto has every chance in this fight and is most definitely a tougher opponent than Oscar was in 2007. However, another factor is the fact that '07 was Floyd's first match at the very highest level of the sport(in terms of attention being paid to the fight, etc). I think that Floyd should have beaten Oscar by a wider margin given where they were both at in their careers, but perhaps the occasion got to him ever so slightly and that's why the fight was closer.

I think Mayweather fans will be ****ting their pants if the fight is close on the cards running down the stretch, which it easily could be. Having said that, I make Floyd favorite to win a decision - but I'll be rooting for Miguel all the way!
I think the Floyd haters will be shi.tting their pants when they see Cotto get Gatti'd..

        not a chance.

also, can people please stop comparing cotto to hatton? i know hatton was rated very highly at one point but he's clearly a one dimensional fighter whereas miguel is not. '12 cotto beats '07 hatton, probably by knockout. in fact, i'm gonna start a thread with that exact poll on it to prove my point.

It is not about Hatton versus Cotto, it is about them versus Floyd and who is the tougher fight for him.

People here went full ******, Oscar would've man handled Cotto at 154. Oscar is a much more dangerous opponent @154 for anyone than Cotto @ 154.

You can't say "not a chance" in boxing...or life..

Don't leave when Floyd whips Cotto worse than Tony and Ms Pacman...without getting all busted-up...

                  Cotto by far.........

Let me start off by saying that a prime Oscar would outpoint Mayweather in my opinion. The Oscar Floyd fought was 34 and past it in several ways. For one, he could no longer bounce using his jab to set up other punches. Two, he couldn't throw the jab for 12 rounds anymore. Three, he was slower and threw ****** flurries out of frustration that he would have never thrown in his prime. After 8 rounds, Oscar was up by a round on all three cards just throwing the jab alone. From 9 on, it was all Floyd.

This version of Cotto is the smartest and most complete that will ever step into a boxing ring thus far. His jab is as good as Oscar's was and he can throw it for 12 rounds. He's significantly younger than Oscar was and is nowhere near past it. His timing is better than Oscar's and his discipline is better also. He can bounce on his legs and his defense has improved enough to be fighting Floyd. On top of everything I just stated, his trainer has a PHD in Sports Science; that is like an inventor who knows WHY something works the way it does, where everyone else is like, huh? This is cherry-picking gone bad for Floyd and his arrogance and ego will equal defeat come May 5th. I cannot wait. So, this Cotto in 2012 is a far more difficult task for the pot-shot artist Floyd Mayweather. Oh yeah, another thing Cotto does and has been doing since his youth, is he punches with his opponent; that is why his timing is excellent. And against a quick fighter like Floyd, this attribute is very important.

                    I agree..........

Hey man. Excellent post here. Scroll down and read mines also. The run Oscar had at 154 with Floyd Senior was fun to watch. The way he rolled with punches and bounced on his toes was something! Oscar gets a lot of hate on here but noone can deny how much he gave to the sport. He was smart, well-spoken, and understood how important it was to fight the best of his era. It is the reason why he is so respected by boxing pugilist. This is what Floyd has never understood man, you have to fight the best of your era for as long as you have the skills to do so; otherwise it's a waste of talent to call yourself the greatest when you don't take risks.

I just hate the fact people brush Cotto off like he's an average fighter like Gatti was.
