Hopkins had everything to gain from winning that fight - oldest fighter of the year, oldest fighter to defend his belt etc - and had not been put under any pressure by Dawson, had no reason to quit. The attack that he quit is just Dawson trying to convince himself that Hopkins doesn't have the upper hand mentally and Gary Shaw blowing off steam. I'm surprised they took the rematch, TBH. If the TKO hadn't be overturned, I don't think they would have taken the rematch.

Hopkins was already lifted before Dawson grabbed Hopkins legs. Yes Dawson just shoved him off with his shoulder.
