In a perfect world, yea I'd like to see them fight over matuljb or whatever his name is... but it's not.
Right now there's 2 options.... Mijares or Mlkdsjfalksj.
Hell, if Arce was free I'd want to watch Arce.
I get that about fights not happening for certain reasons. But I won't sit back agree with a weak proposed fight just because titles are on the line. I will support good-great fights and I will piss on fights that shouldn't be happening.

I like Donaire a lot but for him to down Rigo for his lack of name recognition and then turn around and have this guy as his next opponent is just wrong and it needs to be said.

While the excuse of "No one knows who Rigondeaux is" is clearly bulls**t, given that no one aside from hardcore fans know who Mathebula is, this isn't a bad fight.

It's far better than him fighting Mijares, who hasn't done anything since 2008. At least Mathebula beat Ndlovu and is a Top 10 ranked SBW. It's a good/decent fight, his best since Montiel. I would prefer either Mathebula or Terrazas to Mjares right now, any day of the week.

I hate arum, the guy is single handedly wrecking our sport. Honestly, nonito should have to pick from 2 or 3 fights only. Rigo, arce, or moreno thats it. keep his fighters busy with paydays fighting cabdrivers is getting very old. Well with ANY LUCK bob has a massive heart attack very soon. I can deal with the month following with everyone sayin what a great man he was, even we all know he's a selfish piece of trash. peace ya'll

I know who he is, only because I pay attention to RING rankings and have watched his fights with Ndlovu before, so I know he can fight.

It's a better fight than Mijares, that's for sure. And it's a good shot at unifying. He better fight Arce, Nishioka, Rigondeaux before leaving 122 though, I doubt he will.

The question I have is why did Arum say July 21st? Wasn't July 14th the date they were targeting for Donaire on the Marquez undercard?? Otherwise he'd be planning back to back shows at Cowboys Stadium within a weeks' time...

He beat Caballero in Panama, but Cab got a hometown decision. This was while Caba was still a feared JFW.

Also, Mathebula would be the first guy in a while with height and reach on Donaire.

So this is Arum’s idea of a quality fight. What’s next? Walter Estrada, Steve Molitor, or plan to bring Jorge “maromero” Paez out of retirement? The Rigondeaux fight is a no go because he is “not exciting”. But Jeffrey Mathebula is? He is going to offer a better fight against Donaire than Rigondeaux? Donaire is past that stage where he needed bums fed to him and if he really wants to stake his claim as a top p4p he must stop this campaign. What legitimacy can you gain by beating Mijares or Arce knowing full well that they are not in their prime, and even in their prime they were not in your league? I’m surprised the name Rafael Márquez hasn’t been thrown around. Top Ranks have a list of fighters they use to make THEIR fighters look good. Beating a bum with an inflated record in spectacular fashion can be convincing; it’s boxing paradise for casual fans.
