Comments Thread For: Merchant Hopes To Speak To Mayweather After The Fight

Its not any one interview or question done by larry merchant, its the general trend over the course of many years of biased commentary and biased interviewing by larry merchant with regards to mayweather.
It may have been factual but its him asking the most negative question he could. Mayweather beat the lineal champion by a shutout without breaking a sweat. He cant take issue with mayweathers performance (winning all rounds) or mayweathers competition (lineal champion) so he picks the biggest negative he can find. Its not this one question, its a trend going over years of him being biased against floyd. What does he ask floyd after the Ortiz fight, he brings up floyds "sucker punch" without even mentioning Ortiz's headbutts, the reason they were broken up in the first place, again, asked taking the biggest negative stance against floyd as he can.Comment

If you don't believe Merchant is racist go look at all the interviews he did with Dominant black fighters RJJ, Tyson, Whitaker, B-Hop, Mayweather, then look at the Pavlik,Oscar, Pacman he just don't like blacks and believe me HBO will make a mistake sending Merchant in the ring Floyd said no interview there will be no interview with Merchant!Comment

I agree Floyd likes attention too much to let Merchant get the last laugh. I actually picture Merchant kissing MW's ass all fight long in hopes of Floyd giving him that validating interview. Basically if Floyd shuts out Merchant its over for the old man because Floyd is HBO's cash cow in the long term, and HBO will want to use an interviewer that that cash cow will actually speak with. He will be on his best behavior I bet ya, eager to prove he is not a hater despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Who knows, if Larry is a good lil boy Floyd might even let him interview him.Comment
