Alvarado and Rios would both make great wars with Marquez and I think Alvarado would be too physically strong for him. But Gesta? No way bob

For about 5-6 years now. Even in the 2008 Pacquiao fight, I wouldn't say Marquez was in his prime physically. Since 2007/2008-2009/2010, I'd say he was past his prime-still good. Right now, he's past his prime. But a past his prime completely Marquez is still not THAT bad.

Marquez jumping through the hoops to get Pacquiao again....i like both fighters, but i really could care less about a 4th fight....i've seen this movie before and the last fight was not that exciting at all....Arum has really done very little for boxing 2010 onwards

Marquez's physical prime has been over since before the second Pacquiao fight.
His legs, speed and movement were definitely not the same.

Agreed. I'd say his last "prime" year was 2006 possibly. 2007-2010, past his prime-still good. Since then, past his prime. Arguably beating Pacquiao at 144, when he is past his prime, it just a testament to how great Marquez is.

              It's Gesta!
Zanfer already said they don't want Rios... so it's Alvarado and Gesta... and we all know it'll be Gesta.

Yeah, Its obvious its Gesta, Marquez wants a southpaw with speed and a Filipino is great for him, he beat a filipino before named Jimrex Jaca and it will help him prepare for Pacquiao since Gesta is no threat he has no power at all the only problem is Gesta doesn't have the style of Pacman he doesn't fight ferocious or aggressive.

Marquez would beat any of those guys.

Alvarado was being outboxed by Prescott until he got tired and Alvarado was able to land that KO.

Rios was outboxed by Abril and seemed like a very limited fighter. Right now I don't see him beating Marquez (or well, maybe a lucky KO punch but very unlikely since Marquez is incredibly good at recuperating from hard shots)

Gesta ... Damn, Marquez is going to brutalize him.

Both Alvarado and Rios(To a much greater extent) struggled vs much taller guys.

In Mikes case that tall guy had very good power KO power.

In Rios's case he had to deal with a good defensive fighter that clinched.

Marquez has ok power but not defensive, Not tall, has short reach in comparison.

Both can land and get to Marquez giving both a shot at winning.
