I am going to try to clear something up, a falacy that many fans talk about.

The sport is called Boxing. But what are the two men really doing in the ring? They are fighting. So call them boxers, call them fighters, it's the same thing.

Fighters have different styles. Some like to be more fundamental (using the jab, countering, head movement, etc.) Others like to be more aggressive and go for broke (pressuring, brawling, etc.)

To say that someone who is aggressive like Pacquaio is not a "boxer" is so ****** I don't care to comment anymore on. If you can't see this you are not very intelligent.

If you wanted this thread to be a top 5 list of what you call "Boxers" then what you are essentially saying is: "Give me your top 5 list of boxers that are defensive in nature, and only box using textbook fundamentals"

    End rant.

JMM isn't "Defensive in nature" and Roy Jones Jr didn't "only box using textbook fundamentals". LOL at your rant though.

First of all if we're talking 00s or 02-12 any pics that leave out one of the Mayweather Pacquiao pair are idiotic and simply expose that poster's bias any and all of their other choices can thus be ignored as their whole post is tainted by their idiocy.

I laughed out loud when somebody said 'can't believe I left out Marquez' yet failed to have Pacquiao on their ******ed list. This fl0mo pa(tard crap is beyond reason, along with wlad they are easily the stand out fighters of the last ten years.

Anyway since i presume this is for the last 10 years despite all these choices that belong to the 90s I'd go for something along the lines of ...

        mayweather
        Pacquiao
        Wlad
        Marquez
        Calzaghe/Hopkins/Cotto

Jones jnr/lennox etc are more 90s imo

JMM is defensive in nature. He is most comfortable being attacked and counter punching. When he is forced to press the action himself he never looks his great self.

Roy Jones JR - when did i say he used textbook fundamentals? he was the opposite. so why would he be included in this list if it is only "boxers."

So LOL at your reply that is baseless in its assumptions

Yes, thank you. Myself and a few others came to the same point. If Floyd and Pac are not in your list, you are a fanboy of one and can't stand to rank the other. Your list I can also agree with completely.

Although, when people rank a K-Bro it seems to be Vlad and not Vitali? Just wondering on your choice here, could you explain it?

i felt compelled to pick one or the other and while vitali may perhaps have been the stronger fighter a few years ago anyway (don't think he is anymore) Wlad has fought more top fighters over the past few years and has just achieved more imo

imo before he move up to ww he was more of a puncher then boxer

its because many think Vlad is the better overall fighter

good point, I'd have to agree now that I think about it (with exception of Vitali fighting Lennox)

if they fought each other (not now because I think Vitali is slowing considerably), but say 4 years ago, who would you pick?
