Boxing is a more taechnical sport than MMA. In MMA you might be good at striking but you get taken down by a wrestler.

In boxing you have to be good at certain aspects of the same overall skill set..faster, better reflexes, better defense, better at countering. There is less room for ambiguity because you are talking about punching and punching only.

If the corrupt officiating would go away, boxing would be killing it

MMA is going to massacre boxing in the next couple of decades. More and more kids are being influenced by MMA. If you want to really change something for the future, you start with the kids.

Too many promoters and too much greed kill this sport of boxing that I love. But my love won't blind me.

I dont think mma will kill boxing, eventually all the problems that boxing has, mma will have too, once dana white retires there will be managers, multiple belts, corruption, fighters not fighting each other, etc.

                  BOXING NEEDS A LEAGUE...

I use the word "need" conservatively, but really, it wouldn't hurt...

If there can be 1 guy making fighters fight, spending all his money on promoting the sport and making advertisements to non-PPV events accessible to people who don't HBO or SHOtime... I don't see how that would hurt...

Also, the whole "whose the real champ/who's the best fighter per division" stuff can actually get solved if there was only 1 per weight-class... I mean, again, how would it hurt?

Otherwise, boxing is perfectly fine and has nothing to worry about

What us naive boxing fans need to realize is that its absolutely possible MMA starts catching the eyes of HBO and networks like that, and it absolutely can end up kicking boxing out of the spotlight and making it harder to find

It's possible but I doubt it, we're really talking about one organisation here : the UFC. Because strikeforce and all those other organisations are definitely not a threat. You're telling me one organisation will single handedly kill boxing? I don't see it.

Exactly, as mixed martial artists earn more and more money these problems will occur.
