Debate about boxing and MMA, is MMA a threat to boxing, what can boxing do to regain its past popularity etc.

No its not a threat to boxing. You're talking about a 20 something yr old sport that's still not sanctioned in several states. It is however gaining popularity in other countries alot faster than boxing ever did. The reason being it doesn't necessarily involve learning an entirely foreign system. Mma's appeal is that every country had its own unique system of fighting that can be incorporated in mma.

In about 30yrs when mma fighters' records have to have 20 plus wins to be considered a serious contender like in boxing then it will be a real threat to boxing.

I like MMA but truth be told most of the people I know who watch it are hipster shrimps who do so because they grew up watching WWE and are entertained by the 'clash of characters' drama it promotes.. MMA has a very immature audience whereas most people who watch boxing have a more profound and meaningful interest in the sport.
