Will Floyd ever reach his full potential or will that zero hold him back?

his legacy is what it is. extremely talented fighter, but didnt fight the best towards the end of his career. he will be known as a fighter that was more interested in money and self preservation.Comment

But boxing is about overcoming obstacles, and doing things you arent supposed to do. If Floyd was to beat peoples hes not supposed to beat, with Floyd being the so called one of the best, this is where the credit is got!
So if can beat Sergio at 160 and he dont even attempt to try, he is doing himself a disservice. He may lose, but it dont matter, he wasnt supposed to win.
Will that zero stop him from trying? The benefits outweigh the risks IMO. The zero aint all that.
If he dont take risks there is no point in him boxing, other than to make money.Last edited by hugh grant; 04-11-2012, 10:14 AM.Comment

yeah, Miguel Cotto is another who was ready to fight anyone who would take the challenge, ditto for Carl Froch latterly. This FMJ ducking and diving won't be forgotten when assessing his career, particularly if the Pacquiao fight never happens.Comment

I love how solid threats get deleted at times, and this s**t stays up.
The same people saying he doesn't take risks anymore, are the same people that would have praised certain fighters they like for fighting Mosley and Ortiz, 2 good fights at the time. They are the same people that would praise a guy they like for fighting Cotto at 154 lbs now when he's still good. They are the same people that would have praised him for fighting Hatton when he did, or going up in weight to fight Oscar. Or dominating Marquez at a weight he arguably just beat Pac at.
Boxing fans have the biggest double standards, and it's sickening to see it.
Before Floyd fought Ortiz, people said he wouldn't because it's too much of a risk. They said Ortiz-Pac would be a good fight. Floyd fights him and it's cherry picking a green fighter????? Get outta here.
Before Floyd fought Mosley, people said he wouldn't because it's too much of a risk after Shane KO'd Margarito, and Floyd would avoid him. Floyd fought him, and it's cherry picking??? Get outta here.
Before Floyd fought Hatton, people said Floyd was avoiding Hatton, and people wanted to see that fight. Floyd fought him, but it's cherry picking a small fighter, who wasn't any good??? Get outta here.
Floyd fought Marquez, which wasn't a very good fight at that point. He dominated him, but we thought Marquez couldn't fight at that weight. An even older Marquez argubly just beat the great Manny Pacquiao at the same weight, yet we still don't give Floyd credit for making JMM look terrible and whupping him.
Give credit where credit is due.
HUGH GRANT, who's a big Manny Pacquiao fan, is always saying Floyd avoided this guy or that guy. What about the fighter he likes???
I always hear Floyd avoided Tszyu, Lazcano, Williams, Margarito, and hasn't fought Pacquiao yet.
Manny Pacquiao didn't fight Guzman, Soto, Raheem, Casamayor, Berto, and hasn't fought Floyd yet??? I usually don't mention them not fighting each other, because it's useless and at this point both have been responsible for that fight not coming off yet.
You can't s**t on one guy for something, but then refuse to s**t on the other guy who had similar stuff happen in his career.Last edited by 4Corners; 04-11-2012, 10:33 AM.Comment
