What makes you think that will happen? Do you think Cotto can apply the same kind of pressure that Oscar applied on Floyd? Oscar was able to used his size advantage to pinned up Floyd against the ropes and constantly hitting him with rabbit punches. Cotto doesn't fight that way, nor does he possesses the needed physical attributes to execute that type of strategy.

Mayweather HATES Getting Hit; Cotto KO's Floyd!

Ask Mosley, as Dela Hoya, ask Judah, ask Maidana who Floyd chose Ortiz rather than fighting, ask Pacquiao, who has waited more than 3 years for Floyd to grow a set and sign to fight.... The TRUTH to the matter is, Floyd does not take a punch well, and does not like to get hit. Which is why he hand picks every opponent and skips more riskier fights. Hence why he chose Cotto, thinking Cotto is past his prime, has had too many wars, is too slow and one dimensional.... Floyd had more than 10 YEARS to fight Cotto and Mosley, and waited till well into their fighting career to "catch them to old and shot".... Hence why Floyd still avoids Pacquiao; still too much risk. The problem is, Floyd very well may have guessed wrong with Cotto. AND the world hopes he has. Cotto WILL shock the world and KNOCK OUT Floyd Mayweather.

just watched the Pac Cotto fight again. Pac was dominate! He has a lot of balls too...in the fourth he stayed on the ropes just to see what Cotto can bring.. then he knocked him down....

One thing about Cotto, his wife has some great cleavage! I will be rooting for Cotto!

Miquel has been a gallant warrior but he will be in far over his head against Mayweather.
As much as I would love to see Floyd become engaged in a tough, hard brawl, Cotto has few components left to complete or compete in such a task.

Against a Margarito that had seen better days, literally, Cotto could target what Manny had started and produce a game stopper.
But even in that match, one could see Miquel tiring after 6.
Against Floyd, you must stay up all night.

Adding insult to injury at this 60 buck PPV robbery, will be Mosely getting blasted off the face of Mexico by the flawed but much too young and strong Canelo.

Do you think Cotto is stronger at 154 than he was at 147? I think the Oscar that Floyd fought is clearly stronger than this version of Cotto but Oscar was never really good at applying that part of his game. Antonio Margarito is nothing but a punching bag at this point but I was impressed with the pop on Cotto's punches when they last met--Margarito looked like a light heavyweight that night and he takes a pretty good shot.

I'm of the opinion that Cotto is a shop-worn fighter who has found a new weight and, with a new trainer, has re-dedicated himself to the sport. Cotto is probably in damn good shape physically. His problem, I believe, is mental. Should he start getting tagged with punishing shots, he'll start to fade mentally which, of course, begins to show physically. I've always been a big fan of Miguel and if there's one person I'd love to see beat Floyd, it's probably him. Ironically, while everyone says that this fight would've been better suited for when the two were closer to their primes (agreed), I think Cotto's best shot to pull off an upset is now. He wouldn't have come close in previous years. With a perfect performance and Floyd perhaps slowing down, it's possible. Then again if my aunt had balls...

No. 41 have tried. He fought Castillo twice, did you consider him a different human each time lol? Maybe that is too complicated for you. Lets simplify. If Floyd fought YOU twice. How many have tried to beat him? 1 or 2.

                You're welcome

It will fall some day, it's tough to retire undefeated at Floyd's age and fighting top guys consistently like he's been doing. But that day won't be May 5th.

I wholeheartedly agree, Dazed. Without a doubt, Cotto is a hard puncher. He can possibly knock Floyd down if he catch him off balance. Anything is possible, but I'm just not sure if Cotto can constantly land his most effective punches(body punches) to pull off the upset. It isn't often to see someone land three-four back-to-back body punches on Floyd, but i do see Cotto tagging Floyd with the jab; and in some degree with the right hand as well.

Yeah, you're right. I'm sure part of Cotto's work in the gym is finding creative combinations that will allow something to slip through to Mayweather's body. Good luck with that. Agreed on Cotto's jab but he'll have to be creative there as well because it won't be long before Floyd finds a way to counter. I remember when Roy Jones first allowed the public to see him spar. Asked why the change of heart, he said that at that stage of his career, opponents had seen all of his moves and knew his style inside out. By then, each trainer could tab one weakness--maybe not enough to beat him but something for the next guy to incorporate into his plan. Mayweather doesn't have many weaknesses so it'll take an epic performance from someone (or a drastic physical decline) for him to stumble. Whomever it is, he'll need heavy hands.
