BIG respect to two of the greatest in my lifetime

The people who have never stepped in the ring seem to talk the most ****.

      Them an Pacquiao fans.

      FOH!
      Excuse me?

There's nothing wrong about pointing to when two fighters should consider calling it a career. And if you think Roy Jones Jr. and James Toney should still keep fighting, I'd be happy to entertain the discussion and hear why.

As for the old fallacy about not being able to criticize if you're but an observer, well... How many boxing fans have stepped in the ring? How many pro football fans have played pro football? Doesn't mean we've got no room to opine.

James is still fun to watch.....

Im on edge hoping Roy doesnt get hurt. (and Evander)

I love seeing the last of a bad ass generation still doing it.

Bhop James Toney Eric Morales etc. can do no wrong in my book.

Id like to see them retire with their brain matter but i dont hate em
cause they love the sport and cant let go.

They obviously still train hard enough to compete which is no joke.

Toney is one of my favorites of all time and I idolized him as a child, I don't mind him fighting on against the Bobby Gunn's of the world at all but lets not assume he 'trained hard enough to compete.'

He weighed in 50 pounds over what he weighed in against Lebedev, considering this is a guy who in his better days didn't do road work and just sparred 6 days a week I doub't hes putting in too much gym time. He is most likely coasting on experience and minimal work in the gym, which is fine when your a past prime(euphemism for shot...) fighting a washed up never was who made the move to bareknuckle boxing. I believe the problem Dave was getting it is when these guys inevitably try to step it up again.

Lebedev is average at best, the fact that he has a KO win over RJJ and a UD over James Toney should be enough evidence that these guys are obviously NOT training hard enough to compete with these guys. Granted Roy wasn't doing too bad in the fight, and the KO camed like 5-6 seconds before the final bell.

Max Alexander, Bobby Gunn, thats how far James Toney and RJJ have fallen. That in itself should be an indication of how close to the end of the road these two are.
