Chavez Sr. may hold his weight in the so called "legacy" side but once Pacquiao retires all talks will shift over to his G.O.A.T. status in boxing. Fighter of the decade, fighter of the year, number one pound for pound etc.
Chavez was never knocked why would Pac be able to do that ? i believe Chavez had like a half inch thicker skull than the average human

Chavez Sr wins unless he is shot or weight drine. I laugh when somebody said many consider Barrera a clone of Chavez Sr first of Chavez Sr would have never got beat by Junior Jones in his prime . Pac has always had a hard time dealing with bodyshots. Chavez Sr is one the best body punchers ever with a iron chin

as a person who has seen chavez sr. in his prime, in my opinion pacquiao is a bad match up for chavez sr. Pacquiao wont ever knock chavez out cold like he did hatton due to the fact that chavez sr. has a cast iron chin but pacquiao's speed plus heavy handedness will cut up chavez sr.'s face the same way oscar did and the fight will be stopped due to cuts or heavy swelling.

Pacquiao has fast hands, fast feet plus a heavy handed volume puncher which is all bad for chavez sr. Id favor pacquiao head to head. Legacy wise, i think pacqiao has already passed chavez. Pacquiao has been more successful at higher weights, has more division titles, and has more boxing decorations than chavez already and he's still active.

You need to watch Chavez's fights in his prime. Mayweather, Rosario, Ramirez, ect. You will see the most agressive, well defended, and brutally accurate fighter you have ever seen. The man was a true great. The DLH and Tzsu fights were at the end of his career. Pac deserves credit for getting better with age, but he would not come close to beating this beast, who was just a better all around fighter.

Wow, you're dumber than I thought. And I bet you're even dumber than I currently think, and then on top of that, you'd probably surpass that dumbness as well.

Pac both ways, Resume you can argue either way but Pacquiao is still active and can add to it.

When head to head, what a war. I think Pacquiaos angles and the fact he does quite well against come forward fighters makes me favor him and Chavez cannot counter punch as great as he was.

Some people forget styles make fights, while I might favor Pac in a head to head against Chavez if Pacquiao were to fight say Meldrick Taylor I might favor Taylor.
