Simple logic tells you Bute and his team wanted no part in competing in the Super Middleweight Tourney.

Instead, they'd rather have him fight a couple of tune ups, to get his confidence back up, improve his chin - sit on the sidelines and watch the best tear each other up - then when the dust settles, challenge the battle worn winner.
I don't remember the reasoning but I don't remember thinking it was considered a duck when the names of the super six being announced. However he wouldn't have made it very far but he would have been a better pick than Taylor, AA, Green or Johnson.

He also made it perfectly clear that if Andarde had stayed in his corner he would have won. The only way you can take that is, if Wright wouldn't have had a reason to turn around, he would have waved it of.
I know what you're saying, but if the final bell rings as soon as Bute hits the floor (Which is what was supposed to happen), do you think Wright turns to warn Andrade?

The point I'm making is Wright made it clear that he would have waved it off if Andrade would have stayed in his corner. Now WHEN he would have waved it off is arguable.

I see your point and everyone else's about the IBF rules. I have from the start. However the problem I have is, Wright was too involved with Andrade to see Bute get up to even make the count (and still no bell) and from the post fight interview was looking to stop the fight if Andrade wouldn't have left his corner (in which he never did to begin with).

It's funny because some of the people advocating the Taylor-Chavez stoppage with 2 seconds left are saying it's ok for the fight to continue here and vice versa.

Talk about contradicting stuff going on.

I wouldn't give much credence to what was said at the post fight conference, he was under the gun and had to say something that would appease the Andrade team.

I'm willing to bet that if he looked at it now with a clear head he would have agree that the bell keeper ****ed up and by the IBF rules Bute should have been declared the winner.

You're the second person who's said that but I haven't seen these people you're talking about... at least not on this thread.

Is there another thread that has people (in this thread) contracting themselves about the situation?

He could have... but the fact is he turned away, the bell never rang and then post fight said Andrade specifically lost because he left his corner (that tells me he would have waved it off before Bute even got all the way up). It is what it is. I couldn't care any less on who actually won the fight. Neither of them are that good. My point was the actions of the ref turning for no reason when he was about to wave off the fight in favor of the other guy. At least thats what he expressed post fight.

                    Kessler? Come on...

Dirrell vs Bute would be a fight to see as that would be a 50/50 IMO as Dirrell has been out of the ring...

Ward, Kessler and Froch beat Bute....

Do you really think that he was going to wave off this fight when Bute beat the 10 count... No way in hell!!!
