Pacquiao doesn't get enough credit for Marquez fights

It was quite clear after the 1st fight that Marquez had solved his style and would always give him hell of a fight no matter what but he went on to fight him 2 more times despite being a much bigger draw than him.

Pacquiao gets hated a lot because Arum has given him undesirable fights but he deserves credit for taking on his biggest rival 3 times despite always being at a technical disadvantage.

A lot of big stars have gone through their careers without giving someone who they beat in a close fight a rematch e.g De La Hoya with Whitaker, Quartey, Sturm.

Pac has Marquez's number down easily. This so called "counter puncher" has a style that should be tailor made for Pac but the old man can't ever get it down. He will never win if he doesn't at least attempt to be aggressive instead of only countering and still getting knocked down multiple times and still having compubox favoring Pacquiao.

when you are a big favorite going in and most people think you lost the last 2 fights but the judges, handpicked by your promoter, give you the decision, they are not going to give you credit.

            Great post, I completely agree

            Ive said it before

Pacquiao, fights a guy, whos terrible for his style and has his number, and still gets a victory out of it...even if he didnt get the win, he made the fights close

But all people can say is marquez got robbed

They never look at the fact Pac faught a guy he knew gives his fighting style fits...and still gave the fans what they wanted

Yes I did. The third fight seems to be the one everyone is complaining about yet it has the least margin of even being considered a "robbery". They say Marquez is a good counter puncher with a good defense, but I only see the counter puncher part. He defends punches with his head and steps on Pac's feet to throw him off balance. Again, check compubox, Pac beat JMM 3 times.

So, you're saying Pac should be credit for waiting for JMM to age to then rematch him, not one... but two times?! With the third fight he even went to great lengths bringing him up to a weight he thought JMM couldn't compete in considering his last fight there he got blown out in.

Yeah I give Pac great credit.

Freddie Roach "Marquez' age makes him slower and the added bulk will slow Marquez even more for Manny and make things much easier for him. This fight will not go six!"

Yeah, Pac should get a lot of credit.

AGreed, but if you consider manny was huge favorite in each, he made him wait for rematches, and had the weight advantage in the 3rd fight, I think those factors mitigate "respect" for some people.
