Doesn't matter if it's bob arum complaining or anyone else. Fact is, this is terrible. Guys can beat their wives, get arrested, drunk driving, fail drug tests, etc etc etc and they rarely ever get 1 year suspensions. I don't put too much stock in what guys say in post-fight interviews. Hell, Mike Tyson once said his back was broken. People say some weird & whacky stuff all the time.
Fighters rarely get suspended for that long, i think PED suspension is only 9 months

Margarito was suspended 1 year for loading his gloves

But Juanma is suspended for a year and a half for saying the ref is a gambler?

          :****you:

I mean for them to ban him for a year for something he said after getting his a** kick is a lot. Then they should have banned Margarita a lot longer than a year then for what he did in his fights for fighting with bricks in his hands.

Bob Arum is furious about this decision and will not tolerate this bullspit in the future. Arum has already stated that he will no longer allow HBO and Showtime to release his fighter's PPV numbers and make him look like a liar and a fool by showing that the actual numbers are always 400 to 500,000 buys less than Arum always claims. Now, because of this miscarriage of justice against one of his gravy train fighters, Arum will announce tommorrow that, in the future, he will only allow his fighters to fight in Texas, where Arum personally controls the boxing commission and his fighters can do whatever the hell they want without repercussions. That will put an end to this outrageous behavior in which boxing commissions punish his fighters for engaging in illegal, unethical or immoral behavior like accusing the referee of betting on a fight that he is officiating or loading their gloves.

Arum is already setting up the appeals hearing for, "Being of sound mind and body..." Unfortunately that only works with Contract Law or Tort Law, not a post-fight interview Bobby. Good try but this is a weak sauce, Chewbacca defense as that would be a slippery slope to go down: All Boxers get absolute IMMUNITY from any defaming or slanderous comments made when said boxers can show that they got their respective bells rung during a fight lol! Again, nice try Bobby but that dog don't hunt.

                    to harsh of a sentance

I don't agree they should ban him for a year, that's to long, maybe 6 to 8 months tops. Juama is getting a stiff sentancing, to harsh for what he did, I could understand if he was cheating.

The suspension is dogsheet and I do feel bad for Juanma.

Arum can go fook himself, it's his fault Juanma got suspended in the first place.
He should have lobbied a lot harder.

He can get the NYSAC to let Margarito fight with 1 good eye but can't get the Puerto Rican commission to give a pass to one of it's biggest stars?

                      The old man is slipping.
